So sad to see what happened to our country last night I wonder how much of it was alcohol fuelled?

Saw this pic in the papers today. Note the can of Special Brew.

Hope the Govt and Police get a handle on it today. We can't have many more nights like last night. I know where you're coming from WBF. I'm supposed to be going away this weekend. Feel weirdly like I don't want to leave London at the mo.

    Afternoon all!

Big pants day in the Piggy house but, to be honest, after reading about Bearacus's mum, and the rioting etc, makes things look a bit better here.

Bearacus - big hugs to you and your Mum. Hope the chemo soon starts working. And I've heard only good reports about Herceptin so sounds like everything is being done that can be done.

Onefortheroad - well done for not giving in to the wobble. That can sometimes be the hardest part - getting through those bells.

Had a horrendous day here. Car broke down today. Sounds like a thermostat on the radiator thing (I'm not mechanically minded). Broke down at my Mums so had to rely on lifts from work people etc and then OH had to drive it to a garage this evening, praying the whole way it wouldn't overheat and blow the head gasket!. Can't believe this happened NOW when we go on holiday saturday!! I just sat and cried this evening  We've been saving so hard for the holiday and if the car costs a lot we'll be scuppered.

Am sure things will work out but at the moment feeling very down. As I said though, things others are going through puts this in perspective for me.:(

Thanks everyone for your concern and well wishes for my mum :)

Her results have shown the cancer has moved from her breast and underarm through her lymphnodes and has spread to under her breast bone (cannot operate) However the doctor thought it had spread to her organs but it hasnt :j. So we are sticking with her chemo, radiotherapy and herceptin and hoping that this will kill the cancerous cells. So she had her 1st round of chemo (FEC) today and is feeling good:) Its the best result (in the circumstances) we could have hoped for and we will just have to take it a battle at a time:)

Thanks May2013 - I had missed Chloris's post (sorry:o) so thanks for letting me know :)

    bearacus x

Maybe not the best news - but not the worst, Bearacus - big hugs to you. It's encouraging that they are proceeding with the chemo/radiotherapy etc. If there wasn't a good chance, they'd say "I'm sorry but..." well, you know. Everything crossed for your mum that the side-effects won't hit her too hard. x

Jasper-dog has had a good day and is eager to go out, so we'll have a go at walking to the ford and back. Then a (sigh) cup of tea... Getting slightly concerned, as am wondering how I am going to be able to buy milk/bread/fresh veg & fruit after the next week or so, but we'll sort something out. I've got enough Jasper-food to last, but I might have to creep out at night to find a cow with unattended udders...:)

GtG - glad your friend is going to come out with you on Friday - hope the nice bloke is there!

Miss Piggy - I am so, SO, sorry about your car. I hope it's not too bad. Could you pay the garage in instalments? I know how you feel though - I haven't been able to afford a holiday since 2007; I'd be devastated if my car conked out just prior to a new holiday as well. Sending big hugs your way. xxx

Love to all - and happy birthday to AnnieG! Keep smiling!

We're currently racking our brains on what to do...going to wait and see what bill is though! :-(
