Sometimes bells ring just because that's what bells do!

    I like this. :D
  • Going for AF today so bought some Alcohol Free Becks for my 6pm bell time :) Nice cool lager shandy guilty free :D
That's a good idea... sometimes just the taste of something 'alcoholic' and holding the bottle etc. is enough. Does it taste like normal Becks? I might consider getting some if so because I like it.

    Hello
Still on the wagon here, and def won't drink tonight as I have to take DS to his canoeing lesson from 9-10 and then am getting up early in the morning to drive to Devon. It's my birthday tomorrow and I'm not sure I'll be able to remain AF, but we'll see what happens. If I have a drink, then at least I'l be with my mum and I'll be in a safe place. I'll do my best not to go overboard as I'll have to get up and look after DS the next day, and that's no fun with a hangover.

Just watching the news, and am amazed that people will do that to their own communities, it's like they forgot that they still have to live there afterwards.

    Hi All!

Bearacus - thinking of you and your mum at this time. :grouphug:
Yoemma - well done for passing your exams :j

And welcome to al the newbies. As the others have said, you will get so much support here.

Well i'm still up against it with MrR. I can't remember the last time he went a whole day without having a drink. We're both so tired, but rather than having a sleep he would rather have a drink. I keep saying that the drink just means he falls unconscious, not sleeping. Which means he doesn't wake up in the night when LO does.

    I'm fed up!!!!

    Thank you Bearacus!
Must admit, it's only been one day, but I'm already starting to climb the walls... free-mad-smileys-120.gif

Hope all goes well with your mum. I know how horrid it is - my mum has had the Big C twice. As scary as she can sometimes be, I do love her and it was awful when she was ill; you just feel SO helpless. Fingers crossed for you both.

GoodTimeGirl - you OK today? Hope so...

I'm off to take Jasper-dog for a bit of a wander - try and distract me from myself a bit!

    Keep smiling...!

Been a while but 1 please Shaggy.
  • Hi everyone - hope everyone has had an ok day and that it's not been too bad for a monday.

Ruthnjasper - thank you for asking, I am ok. I meant to log in a bit earlier to enquire after you but you beat me to it!

Today's not been too bad - didn't make a workout as didn't sleep very well last night - had very vivid dreams!

I did work hard today even though I didn't get done what I had aimed to do as something more urgent came up but I did stay focused.

Was hard tonight not to have a glass of wine - there's a lovely bottle of red in the cupboard but am going to make a coffee in a moment to try to disuade myself!

1 tip which I was doing well with until a spectacular fall from the wagon - waitrose (not very mse I know) have a lovely cordial by 5 valleys called rose and pomegranate - v.tasty and I found (at least for a while) that did distract me from booze.

Emailed a friend today and told her about all that had happened and how bad I felt -she very sweetly told me not to be so harsh on myself and said I was single and entitled to have a good time. She said it's probably not the drink which puts guys off but the fact that they only see me in the pub when I'm having fun and don't realise (in her words) how lovely and what good company I am when out of the pub aswell. Am meeting her for lunch tomorrow - she made me feel tons better and have also decided to cut 'toxic' people out of my life. Did well at avoiding one of them at work today.

Bit gutted though as the guy I like who I pulled in a drunken stupor last week has not contacted me despite him being able to get into contact if he wanted to - he's really nice.

Keep going everyone and good luck with the rest of the evening and the rest of the week.

    xx:)
