RuthnJasper - glad to hear your parents were sympathetic with you, you must feel a bit of a weight off your shoulders. x

I am feeling so so wobbly, the boyfriend has gone off up to bed and there's a fridge full of wine, and I'm feeling very down. If I hadn't logged on here I would've poured myself a glass by now. It's good to see a number 1 in my signature though so I'm not caving now.

No! No!! That ISN'T wine in the fridge - it's Khufu's toxic wee-wee - all bottled-up and ready to ship to Tescoses for their "value-brand" lager! Don't touch it!:D
  • FPT - maybe try a nice glass of flavoursome cordial instead and think about how fantastic you will feel in the morning having had the willpower to abstain.x
Yeah I've got a pint of orange squash and thinking about the fact it's probably doing my skin some good. :)

Sadly I don't live with Khufu since I moved out from my mum's but I guess it could easily be either of my 2 cats' instead. :D

Been AWOL for a bit. Pesky thesis to finish, now done, passed and a few loose ends to tie up.

AF tonight, school day tomorrow, early start.

Hello again to you all, new or familiar.

For anyone new, or not, this thread is a huge support, has been to me in the past and probably will be in the future.

Like others I was, and I can say heartily was a bottle+ a night gal, not anymore. I've learnt moderation, iv got my life more balanced, mostly and discovered other passions.

Could not have got through my current work without the support on MSE and here.

Thank you all, it's all possible, small changes, great support, nothing is Impossible.

Apologies for long abstinence, I've been good, but my focus shifted to thesis for the longest time, doesn't mean I forgot you all

    Big huge hugs xx
Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

I cannot think of a SINGLE cat that isn't involved in the production of below-cheap lager... Or so Jasper-dog tells me...;)

    Hello
Just a quick post to say no booze for me this weekend. The first thing I thought when I woke up this morning was 'i'm so glad I didn't drink last night' that clear head is a really nice way to start the day.
Say what you mean.. mean what you say... without being mean.

I guess this is also my first AFD in a long while as well...!

You're sounding so much brighter than you were this morning RuthnJ, well done on your AF day:T One day at a time eh!

I finished the bottle from last night then moved onto a big mug of tea so consumption much depleted this weekend:). Back on the wagon tomorrow.

Bearacus, would you put me down for just 2 on the SNC this week please. I'm out for a meal on Wednesday so will probably have a glass or two. Thursday we're anticipating a rare visit from DD2 so fatted calf will be out of the freezer and I'm sure we'll have wine to go with it.

Hello to the Newbies. Like others have said, this is a great thread for support, understanding and encouragement.

I am on 4 AFD for August now. Can I aim for 3 SNC please Bearacus? Its my birthday Tuesday so I may have a drink, although I am not sure I am fussed, but just in case.

    Welcome goodtimegirl,ruthnjasper

Fakeplastictwee - well done on your AF :T

AnnieG- :Twell done on the AF weekend!!

Af for me last night , so thats 7 please shaggy x

I have not drunk for 5 weeks but last night I felt like having one ! It's going to be a very stressful week as my mum finds out if her cancer has spread to her pancreas (today) , she is starting her chemo (tommorow) and wednesday is another hospital appointment. It would have been so easy to turn to the vodka ( i ve done it so many times before) but Im so glad I went for the diet coke instead :) The bells rung loudly but only lasted an hour but i feel much better, stronger and in control of my emotions.

Good luck to everyone on their AF journey xx

    bearacus x
