I know it's early, but I've managed an AFD, although DS is currently playing a game that involves shoving peas up his nose and my patience is wearing very thin.

I just love this thread!!!
That's 3AF for August Shaggy and my 3 done for the SNC thanks Bearacus.
I'm out for a meal tomorrow so I will be having a drink but I promise to be sensible;).0 -
Sorry flimsier, didn't mean to hijack the thread. Syns are the calorific 'treats' you can have on Slimming World. So it's a trade off between alcohol, crisps, sweets, cakes etc I know it's a superficial sort of reason (when you consider what some people are going through) but saving calories helps motivate me.
Good to see you posting MrsR, hope babyrainman is giving you too much grief (unlike her dad!:().
I'm glad you had a good break Shaggy, what great weather you had.
Have a good day everyone!
No worries. Thanks for the explanation
3 for me for August, (and 7 in a row). Can we just take it as read I didn't mean to offend you?0 -
3 AFD's please shaggy and 3 for the SNC please bearacus

2 For me please
There may be a hose pipe ban in my area soon. Not because of the weather though it will be because of the amount of water been drunk at my house.i must have been seriously dehydrated as I hardly drink any when im on the pop
Having a few wobbles which I remember well from the last time I did this involving friends. Not drinking is such a no no in my social circle and after only 2 days AF I have turned down 2 invites involving the sun the garden and a bottle of white. I will have to handle this one again or become a hermit
On a real positive I have kicked one of my very bad habits around alcohol quite easily (even on my drinking day) couple more to get rid of and I will feel even better.
Not sure if today is AF but it would be good to kick the !!! out of August with more AF days than drinking days.
Zumba sounds right down my street and going to check out if there are any classes near to me later thanks for the advice. Great to see people doing all round healthier changes. I don't need to lose any weight at the moment but I am conscious of not eating more on AF days. Ok waffle over and off for some water :rotfl:29th Feb Quit Day :j0 -

Sadly, refusing a few invites is sometimes the only way to build up a few AF days at the start. I still find it difficult around friends and it's the midweek invitations are the hardest as I really haven't got the hang of trading off my weekends. I can cope with lunches and even dinners but parties is very hard. On the plus side, my DH has been really happy when I've volunteered to drive.0 -
How many points a day can you have on WW, mackeroo? And you are talking about real wine, not that WW stuff?
I was going to ask the same thing...on SW, there's not really much difference in syn value of WW vs 'normal' wine apart from WW wine tastes yak. :rotfl:

- at first i was like 'NO WAY! have you seen the weather' but that was me just being silly. you'll be in full bloom with all that water!

Not drinking is such a no no in my social circle and after only 2 days AF I have turned down 2 invites involving the sun the garden and a bottle of white. I will have to handle this one again or become a hermit- i think it is easier to avoid situations where alcohol is present but don't let it hold you back. you could offer to be taxi driver for the night which i'm sure your friends would appreciate? or take round some nice alcohol free juice. sorry, i'm not very good at putting my advice into practice as i get wobbly at the offer of an evening alfresco with wine!

Glad I haven't offended anyone, I read that as Healthy Eating drivel:)
forgot to quote this earlier - i do feel like i talk about healthy eating drivel a lot :rotfl:
all good here, had a very restful night. OH came to bed at 3am as his friend came round for a catch up and when i was getting ready for work he was asking for headache tablets. at first he complained that it was because he had no sleep but admitted defeat when i reminded him that he had 6 cans of cider on a dinner of quorn sausages, beans and SW chips and not a jot else during the day! i don't think my hairdrying and general banging about helped him.... he's meant to be on a boys afternoon out but i have sneaky suspicion that he's still in bed.
still on track for day 4 of AF and day 4 of SNC but i'll report back later. x"I believe in manicures. I believe in overdressing. I believe in primping at leisure and wearing lipstick. Good afternoon all!!
FPTwee - as Maman says, you are cutting down so thats a massive step taken. :T
Still AF here today...bells ringing earlier but ignored them. Really do want to get away from weekday drinking so have to be stong!
On a good note....took a claw hammer to our holiday savings pot earlier (one of those sealed tinned thingummys.....very satisfying smashing that open!!:D) and inside was.......£436!!!:eek::T:T:):):D I am soooooooo chuffed with that, you wouldn't believe. Entertaining the five of us for a week won't be cheap so thats a massive boost. Me and mum have cashed in our tesco vouchers for theme park tickets and eden project tickets so a large proportion of days out are already paid for. Roll on the holiday....only a week to go!!:T
