What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

morning all! 'TGIF, TGIF, TGIF!' the sun is shining and i'm in such a good mood. OH did manage to get out of his bed and on his boys day. I was laughing so much on the bus heading into work, his best friends wife posted a pic titled '5 mashed men in a hot tub' with my beloved partner right in the front of this hot tub surrounded by 4 burley blokes. now he's quite body concious so he must have been seriously well oiled to do that but seeing as she posted it on facebook at 1am, i'm sure he was :D:D:D

another AF night planned, i start work experience in a salon (i work FT in an office but have just qualified in beauty therapy as a wee thing on the side) so want to be bright-eyed tomorrow. x

  • Morning 3AF for me please

Had a late night with friends round last night and still managed to stay AF which was great but I didn't tell anyone there was no vodka in my coke its too much hard work overcoming the "one wont hurt" argument. Annoyingly had to provide them with vodka though. Woke up this morning with what felt like a banging hangover which is not on!!!! I think it was tiredness but with my years of drinking I really dont know the difference

Off to a party tonight so no chance of AF but I will be more careful I promise :)

  • Morning everyone.

Thanks maman and Miss Piggy, have been feeling bad about no AFDs but I suppose cutting down is still a good thing to do. :) I've been up and about early every day of my week off this week without a hangover or feeling tired/ill so it must be working. There was a time when a week off meant a week of getting squiffy every night and rolling out of bed at 11am the next morning!

Congrats to all of you dieting folk, you've all got far more willpower than me. I managed about 2 weeks and then spectacularly fell off the wagon! The iPhone app I was using reckoned I needed to eat 1230 calories a day to lose weight though so it was a bit difficult!

    Miss Piggy
I hope you enjoy Eden Project, we went last year when we holidayed in Cornwall, it was brilliant!

Hmmm Friday night is usually pub night, and there is talk of going to a local cider farm to camp over at some point this weekend so not sure how AF I'll be. But this cutting down thing seems to be working, so instead of "Bah, I've had one drink so now I will drink ALL of the cider" I shall be more conscious of what I'm putting into my body. :) Hoping to join in the SNC next week when I'm back to work.
  • May2013 - if you've been drinking a lot before now, it could be your body catching up with itself now you've cut down maybe? It's probably done you some good though so just go with it. :)

    - well done! Could be the caffeine in the coke that caused the headache? Just a thought. :)
  • Good point fakeplastictwee (you have to explain that user name to me I'm intrigued :D ) I do get through a lot of diet coke when I am conning my mates :rotfl: Its gone now so at least whatever it was disappeared much quicker than my legendary hangovers :o

Have a great time at the cider camp that sounds like heaven :)

Wow, the thread has been busy the last couple of days!! :j

Good to see everyone doing so well. And as others have said, it's not just about stopping completely but cutting down and being sensible. When I do have a drink now i'm able to recognise the signs that I've had enough so I swap to soft drinks. This really irritates MrR if we go to a party and he's driving as he says I don't drink enough for it to be worth it

Yoemma - Enjoy your work experience. I did my nvq2 Beauty Therapy at college (part time while I was working) and have done an acrylic nail course. I just do friends and family, but I love having the skills there.

Miss P - Fingers crossed that you get nice weather for your holiday. I love going to the Eden Project!

I should be having a sleep at the mo, but as the midwife is due sometime today I'm worried I won't hear the door. So it's the laptop, cup of tea, and a packet of biscuits for me!

    Have a happy friday everyone!!
