xxNot feeling too bad, generally just feeling bad for my mum as she's got a lot on, struggling with money (and I'm not in a position to help) and then last night one of her cats got quite ill so I had to rush them both to the vets.
Worried for both mum and the cat, he's a pedigree so is more prone to defects, and this could be his heart. But we will have to wait and see how he gets on over the weekend.
On the plus side, we're meant to be having a BBQ today! Fingers crossed for sunshine this afternoon :cool:0 -

It's no laughing matter and I totally agree with you. Hope his parents aren't the sort who complain loudly if anything happens to him when he's out alone. But I did wonder why you didn't stick with water when the tap was so conveniently placed!yellowmonkey wrote: »Easter already  Did I miss Christmas
:rotfl:Hi YM!
Drank moderately last night, just finished a bottle left over from last Sunday and when it was gone I had a cup of tea.:A

Hello
I hope you don't mind me joining in. I have to stop drinking. Once I start I can't stop and I keep getting myself into really dangerous situations. The most recent example of this was Friday. I'm too ashamed to say what actually happened but it was awful, and all my own fault. The only way is to stop altogether, I don'twant to be that person any more. I'm not alcoholic, I can happily go for weeks without drinking, but as soon as I have one I have to carry on until I pass out.
So this is day 2 of me being a non drinker. Yesterday was spent sorting out the situation I got myself into on Friday, and then in bed. I haven't had the chance to read through the thread yet but will do so later.
So here we go, I don't drink anymore. *scary*
Welcome. I did that also.
All or nothing for me.
I haven't drunk for a while now as I know that one drink is impossible. It always leads to another.
If I don't have that first drink, I cannot get drunk0 -
Hello
No booze for me on Saturday or Sunday and no drinking planned either. It's going well at the moment but I'm worried about my birthday next week and how on earth I'll explain not drinking...
I used headache/antibiotics/etc and all manner of excuses.
I find it easier saying now that I don't drink.
It's none of my business what people think of me, so I try to not let it worry me (easier said than done)0 -

I've been lurking for a while & wondering how i could describe myself. I then read AnnieG's post & that could be me so i hope it's ok to quote it.
I fell off the wagon on Friday & still feel a bit rough now.0 -
Welcome one4theroad :hello: - you've come to the right place as I think we've all been there at one time or another
. Good luck on your AF journey, you'll get loads of support here.
Wasn't AF last night, I'm amazed how my tolerance to alcohol has fallen since joining this thread. I had half of what I'd normally have and had a dreadful night and groggy morning as a result.
Got family over tonight so won't be AF but will watch very carefully how much I have, don't want another bad night.
Hope you're all getting on ok out there xxLBM Aug '07 Debt [STRIKE]£52,615[/STRIKE] DEBT FREE Aug '12 :jCap One CC £[STRIKE]5000[/STRIKE]/£0 - HSBC CC £[STRIKE]7500[/STRIKE]/£0 - HSBC Loan £[STRIKE]12,225[/STRIKE]/£0M&S CC £[STRIKE]11,500[/STRIKE]/£0 - Egg CC £[STRIKE]8750[/STRIKE]/£0 - Sains CC £[STRIKE]3000[/STRIKE]/£0HMRC £[STRIKE]3140[/STRIKE]/£0 - OD £[STRIKE]1500[/STRIKE]/£0Pay off ALL your debt by Xmas 2012 £14,128/£14,128 :j0 -
Evening
I don't mind you quoting me at all, although I wish it was about something a bit more cheery! Still, I think that recognising and admitting the problem is a big part of the battle, although at the moment, maybe because it's my 2 week holiday from work, I'm regularly thinking about having a drink - oh just one won't hurt, shall I pick up a bottle to keep in the house just in case I fancy a glass of something etc etc. Thing is I know that I can't stop once I've started so I'm putting every effort into not having the first one.
I've got some nice elderflower pop for tonight, which I'll drink from one of my nice wine glasses to make it feel a bit more like Saturday night!Say what you mean.. mean what you say... without being mean.0 -
Hi Annie,
I drink lime and soda from my posh wine glasses just to make me feel like I'm not drinking the kids' pop, makes it taste more grown up
Hope everyone is getting on ok tonight xThis time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
Fingers crossed x0
