CONGRATS to Bearacus our July SaintWhat do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0

Whats syns?
Sorry flimsier, didn't mean to hijack the thread. Syns are the calorific 'treats' you can have on Slimming World. So it's a trade off between alcohol, crisps, sweets, cakes etc I know it's a superficial sort of reason (when you consider what some people are going through) but saving calories helps motivate me.
Good to see you posting MrsR, hope babyrainman is giving you too much grief (unlike her dad!:().
I'm glad you had a good break Shaggy, what great weather you had.
Have a good day everyone!0 -
hello gang. Zumba was such fun, i was a horrible sweaty mess but will definitely go back to class tomorrow. got a 4 mile walk after work to get my car and keeping in the back of my mind that i don't want all this hard work to go to waste by having a glass of wine. the cigs have been ditched too as all three seem to go to be part of a little horrible unhealthy package (booze + cigs + unhealthy munch = overweight yoemma!).
so another AF day - 2 AF for August so far and 2 nights down on SNC but will still be planning to be completely AF on weeknights..
hope everyone is getting on well, just going to catch up on your goings on. x
P.S - i'm still new to this - shaggydoo - what's the 12 next to my name? sorry if i'm being stupid!!!!"I believe in manicures. I believe in overdressing. I believe in primping at leisure and wearing lipstick. I believe in pink. I believe happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and... I believe in miracles."

NTC - yes, I saw the panorama programme. Although it didn't say anything I didn't already expect (my own brother was diagnosed with hepatitis etc through drinking at about age 36), what did shock me was the AMOUNTS some young people could get through! A whole bottle of vodka and I'd be in a coma...but it seems the norm for young people now!:( It also concerned me greatly that, for all they say they want to tackle binge drinking, the government seem to be shying away from the proven ways of cutting alcohol consumption.
Scotdebs - good luck. I know the feeling of one glass leading to 2 or 3!
Yoemma - zumba is on my list of things to try!!:D Tried spinning last week.....my god I thought I was dying!(can see why they call it the calorie killer!!!!):rotfl:Zumba is meant to be good fun though - and a good calorie burner!
Anyhoo....not a bad day today. Work very quiet so spent most of time mooching through forums etc gathering up SW info. Was going to re-join my local group but will do that after holiday (if I'm not completely brassic by then!!) Maman....is it seriously 30 syns in a bottle of wine!?! No wonder I'm bloody fat!:rotfl:
Took Piglet shopping when I picked him up from work.....stocked up on paper, pens, stickers etc so he's been having a great time drawing pictures and has done a letter to post to his little school friend

hey Miss P! are you keeping up with the spinning? i walk past the spin class and feel very intimidated!! i went to the beginners spin one week and even that had me cream crackered!!!
all this talk of syns too, my favourite bottle of white is 27 1/2  i could quite easily polish one off in an evening! with a pizza! haha that used to be my weigh in treat if i'd lost weight. i know it was stupid as typing treating myself to lots of rubbish for losing weight! :rotfl: x"I believe in manicures. I believe in overdressing. I believe in primping at leisure and wearing lipstick. I believe in pink. I believe happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and... Hi All
Just got in after a long boozy night out with colleagues and clients and I'm really glad to report that I was AF!!! so that's 2 AFD's please shaggy and 2 for the SNC please bearacus.
If I'm honest I'm really shocked at how hard it is for others to accept that I don't want a drink...at the beginning of the evening I was bought a drink despite saying that I didn't want one and then had a glass of wine poured for me at dinner (again after I'd said that I wasn't drinking). I left both drinks untouched much to the disapproval of several of the group....unfortunately it drew rather too much attention to the fact that I am abstaining but at least they'll take no for an answer next time. The whole evening was really hard work as I felt that I had to be overly 'entertaining' to prove that I could still be the 'life and soul' without a glass in my hand
...bah!
Well done to NTC and Scotsdeb for getting your first AFD under your belt :T.
AnnieG - breaking the habit at the beginning of the journey was the hardest part for me, you're doing really well so far!!
Off to sleep now, busy day of meetings ahead tomorrow....without a hangover!!!
you can be nice and smug and hangover free!! x"I believe in manicures. I believe in overdressing. I believe in primping at leisure and wearing lipstick. I believe in pink. I believe happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and... I believe in miracles."

Good afternoon all
MrsR - I'm really feeling for you right now. It must be very hard dealing with a new baby and feeling like your OH is missing out on it all. I really hope he comes to his senses soon.:( Other than that, I'm sure you are completely in love with BabyR.From the minute they arrive they make you feel like your heart is going to stop with the amount of love you feel for them!:)
Yoemma - only been to spinning once so far (that was enough!!:rotfl:) but I will probably restart after my holiday.
Definately AF tonight as have to drive out to my friends later. So that will be 3 for me please Shaggy! (glad you had a nice couple of days!)

Hello
I know it's early, but I've managed an AFD, although DS is currently playing a game that involves shoving peas up his nose and my patience is wearing very thin.
However, I have promised to take him somewhere really early in the morning and want to be able to get up properly so he's not disappointed, and my good friend mr white wine doesn't like me getting up early so he's not invited tonight. In fact I may put the bottle that's currently in the fridge out in the garage with the full fat coke I don't let myself drink, I can never be bothered to go out there so it's a good hiding place.
Well done all on meeting your personal challenges, I haven't drunk today and I'm not going to drink tomorrow either :T:T:TSay what you mean.. mean what you say... without being mean.0
