I almost cracked open a bottle of wine, which I was given for my birthday (still a week away), but I stopped and thoguht about it and opened a bottle of fizzy water instead and have booked a spin class for tomorrow, which I'm sure will be hard enough without trying to do it with a hangover.
So, 3 AF days in a row for me, and I'm on leave from work.
I'm not going to drink tomorrow either.

    xx

Thanks MissP, kind of you to say so. If you stick with it you could lose half a stone before your holiday and even if you do have 'wine syns', you'll automatically cut down.

1AF for August me please Shaggy and 1 for the SNC, thanks Bearacus.

  • Morning everyone and thanks for all the lovely welcomes :D

As I hoped rejoining the thread gave me the kick up the jacksie that I needed and I clocked the first AF day for well over a year :) Even had a friend call late on which gave me a small panic but it was pretty easy to give her the usual vodka cokes and myself a coke. No explanation needed.

Today will likely be a drinking day with lunch planned but there will be no preloading or post loading when Im back home.

Did anyone watch that programme on drinking last night? Pretty scary to see 30 year olds with liver failure:(

So if you can add me to the main list (no target 1 AF) thanks again folks you made my day

    Congrats AnnieG! Love good stories.

I watched Panorama, but there was nothing I didn't know on it - in fact I've seen/ know of worse stories. I'm not going to be shocked into not drinking.

However, I'm 5 days AF. I told my other half that I was doing a week secretly hoping to do more, and now I can see the end of that week, and am looking forward to her noticing that I've gone more than a week. I'm playing poker on Friday (I always play better sober) and driving to Newmarket races on Saturday (I never drive drunk, so that ensures I stay sober). Plus we're on holiday from Sunday - though that's going to be hard not to drink.

But for now; concentrating on Tuesday and making it 6 days in a row.

Oh, and that means I'm on 1 for August!
Can we just take it as read I didn't mean to offend you?

Thanks Beckseven and May2013 :o - I must add that I managed 29AFs as I havent drunk since making an absolute a -hole of myself at the pub and upsetting people - The memory is too fresh in my mind and it is what is spurring me on. My husband has also stopped drinking and has got back into his sports, so it is much easier than when your sitting there and someone else is drinking x Im hoping August will be full of AFness too :)

Well done Annie :T and Needstochange:T
Hello Mackeroo  Hope your having a great time with your family :)

Hope everyone else is doing well xx
