Morning all:D
Congrats YOEMMA:j:j:j
Have had 3 AF DAYS , and am on my 4th tonight.Went and bought diet vimto last night, party on!!Feel much richer though, and lighter already:D:D
Meant to say earlier my last hubby was an alcoholic, made my life hell.I barely used to drink when I was with him as was on guard all the time. After losing my Dad to cancer in 2008, I have drunk most nights, and have now decided to get a grip, and only drink socially:D:D
I have a lovely new OH who is really supportive. We have a fab social life and like a drink when we go out, so happy days;):D"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

Congratulations yoemma on your engagement-that's lovely news! Mackeroo-how lovely to go to the Royal Garden Party and meet the queen-wow that makes you practically royalty! Welcome topaz12-once you've had that first afd under your belt you'll feel more on top of things. I was the worst for watching telly and drinking wine-the Apprentice, Masterchef, come dine with me all had to be accompanied by wine but now i still enjoy it just as much without the wine. For me it was just breaking the habit and buying a really nice soft drink to slurp-sometimes i do get through 2 litres of sugar free fiery ginger beer though! Well done candygirl on your alcohol free days. 6 afds please shaggy and 3 for the snc please bearacus. I lost a pound this week which was ok but lost one and a half inches off my waist in two weeks-that must be my wine waist going down. My aim is to be alcohol free tonight and then i'm going to take that tomorrow so am going to have a couple of drinks in moderation after over two weeks af.HSBC Visa-High interest-£2349.23 Nat West £2605.18

If lurkio is lurking, he'd throroughly approve of the Vimto!;)
topaz, I know how you feel about wine while TV watching and I'm told that boredom and loneliness are two major triggers for drinking. I'd suggest you plan other treats to look forward to while you're slumped in front of the box. Either food or a nice soft drink or some pampering.
I checked your target kdenty, and unlike some of us you ae planning to go for the full monty in July. That's obviously important to you and you'll probably be angry with yourself if you give in on a matter of principle. You have to decide whether you want to tell your friend(s) that you've set yourself the challenge of not drinking for a whole month. The other option is to go and just order soft drinks and use antibiotics, dieting, busy day tomorrow etc etc as excuses. The second way is the easiest but if it's a close friend I'd feel a bit guilty about not making it really clear that you can drive her and she can have a drink if she wants. Sorry to ramble. HTH0 -
hey - thank you so much for the congratulations. I knew it was heading that way but i had NO idea it was going to happen last night.
back on the wagon - so 5 AF days this month including today. feel awful coming off the wagon last night (as does my head) but silly me having a glass of white followed by a glass of red.x
