Another quick drop-in, I've come off the wagon, unintentionally but OH has proposed! I have a beautiful bit of bling and temptation got the better of me. I'm estatic and feeling in control, a few glasses although annoyed at myself but not going to beat myself up. X"I believe in manicures. I believe in overdressing. I believe in primping at leisure and wearing lipstick. I believe in pink. I believe happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and... I believe in miracles."

Hi, introducing myself and hope you don't mind me joining in. Have realised for a while now have been drinking far, far too much wine and really want to cut down and maybe even stop for a while. I'm almost 50 now, and only really started drinking like this in the last few years - a combination of less family responsibilities (kids grown so didn't need to drive them round etc), probably boredom and a bit of stress thrown in. But when I realised that a bottle of wine was becoming the norm rather than a treat - decided to take action. I have put on loads of weight, and my diet is generally OK so it is the wine. Have decided to cut down gradually over the next 2 weeks or so. I've been told that's best. So will keep drink diary and hopefully will soon be joining you in AF days. Won't admit all of this to anyone else, I'll just say I'm dieting which will explain me keeping a note of everything. Wish me luck, and I wish you all well
Nice to meet you topaz and looking forward to hearing more from you soon. Wishing you all the best on your journey x"I believe in manicures. I believe in overdressing. Great news yoemma! :TThere's nothing wrong with a celebration, staying in control is what counts.
Thanks for dropping by YM, hope life is good for you and the family.
I watched that 24 hours in A&E tonight. Lots of casualties of alcohol on there. Certainly made me think.
3 SF for July please Shaggy, and 3 for the SNC Bearacus
P.S. You're doing so well with your own AFness Shaggy:T:A0 -

ShaggyxWhat do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -
Just seen the bank balance after saturday incident  Lunch = £60 (with 2 drinks each) the rest of the bar bill and taxis etc = £150 so £210 on 1 drunken afternoon  Wine and champagne
So so not worth it (arrgghh).
What a waste
£210!!!! OMG :eek::eek:What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0
