Morning, another day to add so 8 in total now with 3 for the SNC.
Thanks for scoring Shaggy and mackeroo.
I sometimes have ringing in my ears when I have had a few to many - it always passes when I've sobered up but it's loud enough to be quite noticeable even through a drunken haze. I have no idea what causes it though.
I had great news today as I think I've got tickets to the tennis at the olympics - we applied for quite a lot of stuff and teh amount debited corresponds to just 2 tickets. Will wait for confirmation though before booking the holiday!Trying to keep in budget.

7AFDs for me please Shaggy.
A horrible woman shouted at me on my bike on way into work today. Just because she was stuck in her car in a traffic jam and I went past the Q.. And no, I'm not a red light jumper.

And her problem was??? Perhaps she was hung over?;)0 -
Thanks for all the advice re-ringing. It isn't loud, and I can't hear it unless I'm in a very quiet place so doesn't sound too serious. It could well be bad circulation (I'm ALWAYS cold.... of course I live in Scotland !!) but sounds like blood vessels in my lugs are affected when drinking so, surprise surprise another reason for cutting down/giving up!
Have a great weekend all.0 -

Thanks Maman, yes, perhaps she was. I'm not sure what she said, I just caught the end of it, some comlaint about me going round the outside of the queue. I was trying to get past several buses and a lorry who were completely stationary, to get to a safe position at the head of the q at temporary traffic lights. No way would I do that on the inside! She really snarled at me tho'. Cow. Cycling in London is really sh*tty sometimes. Anyway, I'm over it as you can see. <And breathe>.
Hope everybody has a nice day. I'm going to a work do later with people I haven't seen for about 10 years. Terribly nervous. Must try and resist drinking for courage.

Please don't do it when you have been drinking.
Several folks I know got banned from driving and had to take up cycling. They then proceeded to fall of their bikes whilst drunk.
.Living Sober.
Some methods A.A. members have used for not drinking.

Thanks RA. I've been stupid in that direction previously and have the chipped teeth to show for it . But I am a reformed character and will be leaving my bike at work today.

Hello there!:) I am interested in joining you all if you don't mind?
I'm 24 and my boyfriend and I drink rather a lot and have decided we want to live healthy lives and we MUST cut down. We are best mates as well as bf and gf and we have all the same friends that we hang out with. The trouble is ALL of our friends drink heavily too and whenever we socialise it always ends up being a heavy night. We both work irregular hours and drink a few times a week, but like I said it is always heavy binge drinking. We've tried suggesting going bowling or to the cinema but most of our friends don't have jobs and can't afford to do these things (although they'll always find enough money for boozing!)
The sad thing is that I'm quite a shy, nervous person and I only ever feel totally comfortable around people when I'm drinking (except for my boyfriend). I always get my words muddled up and worry about things too much when I'm not drinking so the thought of socialising without booze scares me, especially as everyone else will probably be drinking. Also we both still live at home with our parents so we don't have a house to do things like dinner parties etc.
Anyone in a similar position???0 -
