Anxiety is one of the most tiring, energy-sapping things we have to face.

A friend of mine has recently moved from an impressive job, and waited too long to make the decision because she was scared that she would be seen as 'running away' from it. We decided that a much better way to see it is as 'running towards' something less stressful.

There is no such thing as 'never', especially at your age. Do whatever you need to recover from this bad patch, then who knows what you might decide to do?
  • Thanks guys, ive been overcome really with the advice that I have, spoke to my contact within Sainsbury's and its all systems go apparently.

Speaking with our new store manager on Monday, after my contact has spoken with him to talk terms, what would people do now regarding FD, should I go back, or take the time before I recommence with Sainsbury's to chill out?
  • Anyone!?!?

Hi Learning to drive, it all depends on how you feel. Do you feel you want to go straight back, or do you want to have a week or two's break first? There's no hard and fast rule, it's all about what you feel is right for you.

As for your family or g/f saying you shouldn't go back to Sainsburys, people develop at different rates and react differently to change. Though doubtless you think you're terribly grown up at 21 ;-) us old ones will tell you that you're not the finished article yet. Plenty of time in life to make changes when you are ready to do so. You're young.
  • Well I dont officially have the job with JS yet, I will do Monday I expect, its definite I'll have a job, just unsure where etc.

I feel like I dont want to go to FD at all, I really dont, since I'm leaving, whats the point?

Those are my thoughts, my stress will disappear I think,
  • I'm really bad at this moment in time as I speak, I dont know why, I just am, girlfriend hasn't replied much all day really, she may be busy.

I just need to get back to normality, going back to first direct on monday honestly panics me. I've realised it's soon too. Monday isn't far away. I'm getting really anxious about it,
  • Hi again.

How quickly can you rejoin Sainsbury's? Can you afford to take sick leave from FD?

If you feel that stressed out at going in on Monday, then DON'T.

    Health first, remember.
 What if the hokey cokey is what it's all about?

  • Hi LTD
Try not to get anxious about your situation, if thinking about FD is making you feel so stressed then i would not go back on Monday. Just call them on Monday morning and tell them you will not be going in. I presume you have put your resignation in writing already?

try and relax and find something to do to take your mind off the subject. Sure your girlfriend will be in touch soon, but in the meantime put your mind at rest, make your mind up that you are not going back and give yourself permission to stop worrying about it.Try and enjoy what is left of the weekend.
    Take care

  • I was just going to say the same thing as Minnie (she beat me to it).

How about making a doctors appointment on Monday morning and getting signed off sick? Give yourself a breather and time to recover a bit.

If you are planning on leaving FD then it won't matter, and stress is a reason to be signed off sick.
  • Good advice, guys, bless.

Went to see my old bakery manager tonight, hes a mate, so we went to the pub.

Told my folks, they dont agree but obviously support.

I'm going back to earn some cash to pay the bills, and a little bit more to enjoy myself, its not forever, and it wont make me ill.

Then i can concentrate on getting myself better through medication / seeing doctor / counselling (if appropriate) but I can be around friends at work and then focus on that, I dont need to learn anything new, i know the job inside out too.
