Thank you evans mummy for your kind words......the type of people who want a traditional house in a traditional village in the mountains instead of a new house in an urbanization on the Costas will snap our house up. It's just a matter of getting them through the door!

i've been looking occasionaly at property in spain using rightmove and there appears to be a huge amount of bargain basement priced property - assumed it was bank foreclosures, i guess you just need to be aware of that when you are pricing it and also making sure that the plus points on yours are made really clearly. one thing very few of the houses on rightmove tell you is airport distances so i'd def put that in too.

    good luck

I have no idea where you're advertising it, but the literary connection should spark the interest of followers (with ££££ or $$$) of Brenan and also Woolsey. Does the house still have the plaque? Good luck with it.

I've added some information recently, including the distance from three airports. :)

Other people who know the area say it is a good price and maybe even too cheap, but one has to be realistic and we can afford to negotiate at that price.

Unfortunately it is not the actual house that Brenan lived in and entertained the Bloomsbury group in (which is round the corner), but all the back windows overlook his garden and the lane is named after him.

Updated listing with this info (can't believe we missed it out!!).

Looking at the site you have up, I have a few suggestions:
    • There is too much in your face when the page opens and nothing that hits you straight on. Please let me explain.
You want to create am appeal for someone so strong they just can't wait to see more. At the moment, your webpage does not do that. There is just too much detail to take in.
It looks as if your property is shown within a separate property directory, so you proably have to use their template use (this is not good). Can you design/tweak it?

The images need to be much bigger (at least 500 x 350px) and preferably in a carousel or slideshow. These are your main selling assets, so let them sell!

The text is all the same and very difficult to read.
Make Bullet Points and make Bold specific interesting words, these then stand out are far easier to read for the viewer.

If any of this is not able to be done from within this property directory's site, then I would suggest you place it with a local UK EA and get it onto RM local and RM's overseas sites.
Also have your own webpage and put online. Perhaps create a video showing property and place on YouTube and also have a Facebook page...

If you would like a page designed from the current, I would be pleased to do a mock up completely free....:)

It's expensive for one whole village house with only one shower room. Think you're falling between marketing it as one house or two houses and not quite hitting either.

Be clear about which market you're targeting and provide floor plans for the whole property and floor plans as two properties.

Suggest a declutter of the shower room and the kitchen. Washing up left on the draining board and a towel slung over the shower rail detract from the ambience.

I agree with others about the block of text and size of pix.

I know Andalucia very well and would want to see a photo of the parking space and its proximity to the house. Also, the state of the road to the village.

The property market is much worse in Andalucia than in the UK given the huge oversupply that's why it's vital you target the niche market of people who prefer a remote village rather than the Costas.

There's only one chair and one sun lounger on view suggesting that there isn't space for two.

Which airlines fly to Almeria, the airport which seems closest at 1.5 hours? If none of the budgets fly to Almeria then state who flies to Granada and to Malaga. I know they all fly to Malaga but aim this at someone who doesn't know anything.

Hope it sells! No doubt you'll be sorry to leave.

I know Andalucia very well and would want to see a photo of the parking space and its proximity to the house. It's not a designated parking spot but no-one else parks there and is just at the bottom of the lane, about twenty steps! Also, the state of the road to the village. Road to the village is a tarmac-ed road and the bus to Granada and the coast goes along it every day.

The property market is much worse in Andalucia than in the UK given the huge oversupply that's why it's vital you target the niche market of people who prefer a remote village rather than the Costas. That's the idea. I do keep tweakin at the listing and we are workinbg on another for another website.

There's only one chair and one sun lounger on view suggesting that there isn't space for two. There are two tables, a sun lounger and two chairs on the terrace! Agree we should show them!
