I'm hopefully going to hear about a couple of jobs this week so I'll let you all know.
In the meantime, I've got a leaving do at work to sort out and a holiday next week to look forward to as well as a long weekend in Munich coming up in a couple of weeks with the good lady wife to celebrate 10 years of marriage!
regardless of your position it is good to hear the positive tone of your post. Good luck.
we had a great break so back to the checking jobs and deciding where to go next.
Please let me know how you are all doing.Andyboy :idea:0 -
looked at any H&S related jobs in the local area. None available as yet.
Back to jobseeker plus tomorrow morning. Still had no confirmation on assistance yet but will update after meeting. Still considering self employment and saw one job where you show fat free cooking tips. not sure if this is really my cuppa tea (and cake) really.
Need to contact some local H&S firms/consultants to see if I can pick up any tips.Andyboy :idea:0 -
i am now receiving JSA (cotribution based) despite many people thinking that if you have a redundancy payout you won't get it. :j
As previously posted i applied on line and answered all the questions fully (including the one about any savings). You are entitled to this payment and will also ensure the government stats on unemployment are as accurate as they can be by applying for it. You wull also keep your NI payments up whilst receiving it.
i was a doubter, originally, but after reading several MSE posts decided to go for it. Have you applied? Did you get it? Are you a doubter? ( I am starting to sound like a preacher now.....it must be the daft time of the day I am up.....DO IT NOW.)
Just need to wait for the money to actually reach my account now....:)Andyboy :idea:0 -
I get contribution based. No questions at all about income. I just said I was only claiming contribution based so no questions about income or saving. They tried to ask about partner and children but I asked if that was relevant and they said no.June challenge £100 a day £3161.63 plus £350 vouchers plus £108.37 food/shopping saving
July challenge £50 a day. £ 1682.50/1550
October challenge £100 a day. £385/£31000 -

"no Qs at all about income"
really ? this was during the phone interview, rather than at the job centre, yes ? I thought they still asked these income/savings Qs, in case you went on to income based JSA or ESA, after the 6 mths conts based JSA. But with you, just NO savings Qs....0 -

C96 i am wondering why you seem to be doubting what posters are trying to help you with. Have you actually applied for JSA? If yes what is your experience? If no what is the worst that can happen?
You apply - they decide.
Sorry if the written word doesn't come across in the light hearted way i mean it. I am trying to help people be more positive about what for most will be the most upheaval they have experienced in their lives.
The decision is yours and IMO you should apply if you have more than 2 years NIC. I would expect them to put you on cont based JSA for the first 6 months and they means test for any further payments after that time. If you wish to share your experiences that would be great to assist any others in similar position but if you choose not to that is fine as well. Keep positive and strong and good luck in all you do.Andyboy :idea:0 -
yes, true. just worried re the future/officialdom. Redundancy letter comes 6/6, so it will all start from then. Carry on the good work. Will post my experiences, when they start0

I signed on 1st April online and then went on holiday and had a new claim last week. So 2 claims. One on line, one by phone. Both then followed up by trip to the office where they went briefly through the details again. I have answered no questions about income. They asked about a partner the 1st time and children the 2nd time. I simply replied that i was claimimg contributions based jsa and didn't see how that question was relevant.
No-one has asked a single question about money. Not how much redundancy (or even if I got any) no questions about savings and none about husbands income.June challenge £100 a day £3161.63 plus £350 vouchers plus £108.37 food/shopping saving

This just highlights How quickly i have forgotten the stress I went through in my last weeks at work(Sorry). Hang on in there and try not to worry too much about what might happen. See it more as a new adventure (if you can) and accept the challenges. Keep any questions or concerns coming and I am sure someone will be able to assist.pleasedelete wrote: »I signed on 1st April online and then went on holiday and had a new claim last week. Thanks pd. I just wanted to encourage people to accept that they will still be able to get additional financial help at quite a stressful time of life. You are helping to back this up for which I thank you.
Keep your thoughts coming. :TAndyboy :idea:0
