  • Only 2 weeks until i am made redundant with no joy in finding a new job so far. I have worked here for 17.5 years so already completed 10 weeks notice.
I also work 8 hours in another job which i will keep on and i think i am entitled to contributions jsa and should also get a discount on council tax as OH is on ICB and DLA. Have started to complete the form on online but need OH's NI nr.
Good luck everyone looking for jobs and with interviews. I've applied for quite a few now and not even had an interview.

    Hi spottiswoode

sorry you are in the club (as it were). Don't give up on trying for new job and yes you should get JSA cont based but will need to declare your 8 hour job.

let us know how you get on and what challenges you face and overcome. I am waiting to here back from a couple of job applications but don't really want anything until after summer break.

Anyone else finished or due to finish soon? One of my work colleagues finishes next week so will be helping them as much as I can now.

I have 6 weeks to go, the last 4 months have flown by and I just keep changing my mind what I want to do once I have left.

I am now considering starting my own business, I have a few ideas at the moment... is anyone else planning on starting up on their own??

I am so glad for you. I was trying to say not too worry but the problem with redundancy is it throws up all kinds of turmoil. Just go in Thurs and be positive about what you are doing now and going to do in the next few months etc. The more you do the less they hassle you. Let me know how you get on.

MissM i am glad I am not the only one. I keep thinking time off then find a job, then own business. Can't decide what to do now but am struggling to even find jobs to apply for. Will get told off again at JobSeekers no doubt on thurs!!

i too would like to hear from anyone setting out on their own.

Thanks Andyboy, at least it's not just me being indecisive... I have other plans too, some extra IT training and also doing a CELTA course so I can teach English to foreign students... I just can't make a decision about what I want to do in the long term.

    Hey guys

You just don't know how much you are helping so many people out there, so keep positive we are with you all the way!

I have passed this thread on to a number of people that are going through the same mixed feelings/emotions as you.

Don't forget there are also lots of charities (ours included, LOL) that would love to have your help and support, even if it is is only short term.

You are an inspiration to us all so keep posting and we are really looking forward to the day when we can really celebrate with you when that Golden door of opportunity opens for you.

    Best wishes

    Beansy
