not wishing to be nosey about your finances, but did you declare everything/£, ie, more than the £6k (£16k?), 'limits' ?

Have been 'told',, that these limits/amounts, do NOT affect JSA Conts based entitlement (though would affect Income based), but are asked for now (at JSA stage), so that they are there/ready, for when/if ESA kicks in after....6 ? mths.

Just apply on line and answer the questions asked. there was no mention of amounts of savings to my recall. you can do the full application without submitting it if you are worried.

I think the amount of savings is only asked about if you plan on applying for housing or council tax benefit, not for JSA contribution based... I guess after the 6 months they might want to know for income related.

If you can't decide what to do i would just say go. They aren't particularly nice places to go but it is a means to an end. I will keep you all posted.

    castle96 go fo it!

We were talking about whether to sign on for JSA or not in work today. My colleague who has worked for local government for even longer than me :D says she isn't planning to claim it but I think everyone should if only to ensure this Government isn't able to downplay the unemployment figures. That said, I'm not looking forward to it one ;ittle bit.

Only four more days to go . . . :T

i agree that everyone should sign on. It is money you are entitled to and will give a true indication of the state of the country at this moment in time. Besides that many people will then be given access to information and help they may otherwise miss out on.

Try and talk her into it. Enjoy your last few days.:)

  • I've been very busy in the last couple of weeks and have had 4 interviews. As you can gather by now I'm wanting to get something sorted out before my notice period ends, if not then so be it!

I'm hopefully going to hear about a couple of jobs this week so I'll let you all know.

In the meantime, I've got a leaving do at work to sort out and a holiday next week to look forward to as well as a long weekend in Munich coming up in a couple of weeks with the good lady wife to celebrate 10 years of marriage!
