Not really into royalty but enjoyed the wedding. She was lovely and they both looked so happy and in love. Fab when she came out onto balcony and saw crowd and was like wow and loved that they drove out in the car with ballons and L plate. And her sister was absolutly lovely as well. They are very pretty girls.

I loved it!I moved here from South Africa (my family "were them lot" that went over at Her Majestys behest all those decades ago-they didnt argue coz the weather were warm;))

I was doing well on the weepies until she stepped out onto the balcony.I hadn't been able to lip read a word they had said all day-but that "Oh Wow!" was just lovely.Mrpolkadot is "Mr Bah Humbag" himself and still has a grin on his face.

I used 35 points-so 5 over my limit but it was so nice to know it didnt matter because of my little "keepnet" of 49 weekly.I used 1 of those points yesterday so I have 43 left for the rest of the week. And only 2 G&T's the whole day:D

And Ive worn my stepcounter to work out how many points I earn from my half hour on the wii and its 3 points.

DH says (and can someone correct me if he's wrong) that because of the issues with my hips,I should aim to do 2 days (if I can) and then have a day off.I know Im only doing small bursts, but they're really rather big bursts for me...so Im aware of overdoing it.

I found a book in the poundshop a few months ago called "the healthy eating plan",basically some NHS thing that talks about stuff like the different kinds of protiens and what they're needed for. Then they have descriptions of different diets and how they work and why different diets suit different people. Not entirely helpful, though not entirelly useless. The best bit is there's 12 weeks worth of tracking sheets and worksheets and stuff-so it turns into a bit of a journal.I paged through it and then thought "oh well",so today I took it out a discovered it does have some good note spaces,so I've put it in a diary bag with all my weight watchers stuff-and Im hoping it'll make planning a bit easier.

Hi everyone, didn't expect to find this here. I've been trying to lose weight for several weeks but weight has remained EXACTLY the same no matter what I do (and I've checked scales working). I'm 5'2" size 18, small frame (size 8-10 before having daughter) and 13st 4lb. I've been exercising by what I know is not strenuous enough exercise of gentle swimming 2-3 times a week plus v long walks of up to 8 miles (but even though gentle exercise it should still burn calories right?) Also have cut out crisps and choc, have switched to skimmed milk and sweeteners for tea and cereal and diet juice only. Didn't expect huge difference but figured I'd lose around 1lb a week and after a while would feel up to running which I did before dd too. I've apt with Dr next week as I'm also experiencing some stomach pain and bloated feeling. If nothing medical what on earth am I doing wrong?? Have ordered Nadia Sawalha and Beginning Yoga DVD's for a hope of exercise boost, I'm really confused.

Aplogies in advance but I'm not sure where to post as I didn't get any replies in the "Food" forum, so here goes.

I have just bought Weigth Watchers Original Bagels for the first time. Is there a knack to splitting them for toasting without them ending up in bits? Compared to New York Bagels or supermarket own brand these seem to not be deep enough to split without breaking

sorry I cant help you, since wheat is a major contributor to weight gain I have given it up

Omg, what a coincidence! I just logged on to ask your opinion on which of the following scales are best:

    Number 1

    Number 2

    Number 3

And the link you've posted is number 2 of the links and is the one I wanted to get most :p, but wasn't sure about the other 2.

    Thanks x

No 2 is better than my older ones so i treated myself :D

I suffered from stomach pain, bloating, lack of energy, washed out and IBS for 15 years, turns out it was a wheat / gluten intolerance :(

The first thing I would suggest is keeping a food diary, most people underestimate how much they eat by up to 50%, its a bit of a pain but you get fast at it. There are some free web based ones, I personally use an iphone app.

There is the possibility that your not actually eating enough and have gone into starvation mode. You actually need to eat to loose weight, especially if your exercising a lot, again a food diary can help with this

lastly you have to unlock the fat in your body to be able to burn it, high levels of insulin stop you from burning fat regardless of how much you eat or exercise, try reducing your carb intake to around 100g a day and make it slow release low GI carbs

oh and dont avoid fat, its good for you, there's no medical link between eaten saturated fat and CVD / CHD

About swimming. I am told by my swimming teacher that swimming is the best exercise in the world. It provides both aerobic and resistance. The water supports your limbs and joints so it's good for anyone with bone and joint problems, arthritis etc. At the same time as supporting you it provides resistance because you are pushing against the water all the time. So, yes, it's aerobic - it gets your heart and circulation going, it gets you to use your muscles, and all that is good exercise. For some of us, it's the only exercise we can do, which is the reason why I keep going to swimming lessons late in life (some might say very late).

I wouldn't take as gospel any celebrity whether Nadia Sawalha or anyone else unless they happened to be an expert in the field like Rosemary Conley. All she can do is to show how she did it, but then so could a lot of other people. I'd rather listen to Eric Pisch on here than Nadia Sawalha! The only exception to that is a young woman named Leanne Grose who has a leg amputated, and she's devised her own fitness regime based on her wheelchair.

Cereal - which cereal are you talking about? Most so-called 'breakfast cereals' are full of sugar, which you don't need. A lot of advertised 'low fat' products have had the fat replaced with sugar which, according to what I've been reading, is the reason why nationally our weight has gone up over the last 20 years at the same time as 'low fat' has been pushed at us.

I find I need protein, especially to start the day, so usually it's an egg in some form for breakfast, together with a slice of wholemeal granary bread. Some people have cut out 'white' i.e. white flour, white sugar, white rice, anything highly-refined.

When you fancy something sweet ( I haven't had any chocs in over a month), what do you generally have which is not too fattening? Thanks.
