Gotta admire you at your age (not that 43 is old) getting a degree and all that

I graduated with 2:1 Honours in 1981 BSc Behavioural Sciences aged 45.

My elder daughter graduated 2:1 Honours BA Classics a couple of years ago at the university where she works. She's in her mid-40s too.

My GS went to the same uni that I went to, also as a mature student, now doesn't that make me feel old! He got 2:1 BSc(Hons) in computer games design.

Congrats Betty. :) I know quite how you feel, I was waiting for one whole year before I got a job back in october. I was so glad as it came at the best possible time, a time when it seemed as if we were so low on money that we wouldn't have enough for our holiday this year. But so thankful it came when it did as it now means the holiday is possible (which has been booked already :D)

that's exactly how i feel - money was getting so tight I was worrying about being able to afford a nice summer (although no holiday) and then we got engaged so i'm worrying about wedding money too! OH makes a decent wage but I hate not being able to contribute to normal things like bills, grocery shopping etc. let alone big events like the wedding!!
That's amazing Betty - what a turn around - out of the house and going to work:T:T:T. I really hope this is just the lift and new focus you were looking for.

Thanks for the chart Fred and well done efrieze:T

I am going off line for a week peeps so i won't be around. I am absolutely fine, it is just a course I am on has set us the challenge as homework to not use the internet for week... so see you on a week (eek!)

wow good luck lasting a whole week without the internet, not sure I could do it!! :rotfl:but then I am always on facebook, twitter, google, etc. I rely on google for everything even ordering a takeaway!! :rotfl:

Well done vix your psychic prediction came true, now can you please get a good feeling about me winning the lottery soon?! :rotfl: good to hear your high flying career plans (pun v much intended!) are still going strong.

    Welcome collie

Cor tagz your cross trainer sounds dangerous!!

alliwant dont beat yourself up about worry eating for 1 day, just call it a feeding day / a 'blip', put it behind you and get back on track again asap.

I can't believe i still havent made it out for a run in this lovely weather! works been busy this week and i keep finding things to do around the house!! But i'm worried about keeping up the running with my new job - hoping I will as i dont have to work evenings so can go out for a jog after work while it's still sunny.

I don't feel I deserved SoTW as I really wasn't as good as I had hoped I would be! Anyway, still up almost 3lbs from my recent minimum so more work to do but thanks anyway,

Off to a spin class - I am really impressed with myself that I am managing to stick to my 4 times a week exercise. Not bad with a full time job, a family, a (bit of a) social life and organising a large PTA event this weekend! They say if you need something done, ask a busy person!

Also looking forwrad to possibly logging timed exercised per month as it does encompass all the exercises we all do.

I wonder why this is goodgirl- I put in 2lb a week weight loss and Food Focus has give me a daily calorie allowance 1,700

    Jess

I put sedentary activity level but even so, 507 cals is not enough to live on even if you're bedridden!!!

You must be a similar weight to me, that's about what I'd get on those online calculators for a 2lb/week loss (if sedentary). You'd think there would be a cut off if it goes below 1200ish where it tells you 2lb/week or even 1lb/week simply isn't a sensible target to aim for!

vixarooni - me me me! I'm hooked on the Giro and also Tour of California this week which is proving interesting with the time difference!

Monthly weigh in for me tomorrow and it's probably going to be a small gain, but not too bothered as it's been a small loss every month this year until now, so things are well under control :).

Have a great weekend everyone, good luck sticking to plan.

Yay!! I gotta ring up next week to get my start date!!!!! This is your doing betty, your good luck obviously rubbed off on me!!!! So excited :D

Giro is soo good. Mum and i are really into it. I've been where they went to today! The grossglockner (i've written that as pronounced!)

I've tried to eat more today, my body felt like i needed it so the extra kit kat (i'm blaming polkadott!! haha) and fish and chips has sorted me right out.
