2.5lbs for me this week-that's a total of 6.5lbs in 3 weeks.I would never have thought I had it in me.

I also resisted the urge to have a mid morning snack at work (a kit kat) I had the money in my hand but went for the 3 strawberries i had in my pot! Felt good after that :D
I know you're not on weight watchers-but here's an interesting thought for you to ponder...my new favourite desert is 150g serving of strawberries, add 30g light squirty cream, crumble over 1 individual meringue nest (I mostly use asda brands for both meringue and squirty cream)-on the propoints plan (which is really just another way to work out the nutrition content) this desert costs me 2propoints....a 4 fiinger kitkat costs me 7 propoints:eek:

Hahahahaha!! If that wasn't so cheesy i would consider pulling that line out myself :)

Buuuuuuuuuuut, alcohol is lush because the whole entire universe condenses down to like an invisable 30 cm 360 degree circle around you. Thats pretty lush! Plus, for whatever reason, i am not suffering greatly in the hangover stakes!

So what do you want to do with this degree tagz,or should that be rolf? :p

I really want to be an artist! I did an art foundation when I was 19 and specialised in ceramics and 3d art, but didn't get to finish the course as I was unwell. So at the age of 43 I'm going back but this time to specialise in fine art and painting. Want to get my BA and then MA.

Enough about me. What brought on the career change? Has it always been something you wanted to do. I would have loved to be an airhostess but I get terrible earache when the plane lands. My father in law used to work for BA and he was able to travel for almost nothing! You're gonna be one of those women I envy. Glamorous, everything under control, and jetting off all over the place!

Haven't had such a great night tonight! Overdid it a bit on the food so thought I'd jump onto the crosstrainer to burn it off. 15 mins into it, a bolt on the front foot of the cross trainer shears off and flies across the room. Thankfully I opened the back door for some ventilation otherwise it would have shattered the glass. Found it a metre into the garden!!!! :(
    I would if I could but I can't so I won't!

Well done on the loss! You're describing an eton mess of sorts! I love that dessert. See, now my mindset is on trying to cut out some stuff so i would probably be more tempted to have just the strawberries on their own (unless it was for a real treat) I don't measure anything though, so i can imagine those 2 points shooting up to 10! :rotfl:

Gotta admire you at your age (not that 43 is old) getting a degree and all that shiz! You've just reminded me of that programme..show me the monet! I quite like watching that, it really highlights the difference on opinion everyone shares in art. It would be cool to see some of your work tagz!

Well my degree is in business/tourism so i suppose this is *hopefully* my route in. Plus i wanna see the world a bit, and then i want to branch onto something head office sort of things, hotel star ratings would be awesome! Or being on a tourism plan for a city. Trouble it is never that easy!

Cor what the heck happened to the cross trainer!!!!! Dangerous!

I suppose that is the key Vix,weighing and sticking to your portions (we talked about that in the meeting tonight). My thoughts are I have a choice of this desert (at the size allocated to 2 propoints) or I can have a weight watchers bar of some sort which is likely to cost 3 or 4 points. My chocolate bar would last all of 2 minutes (if that) and then I wouldnt feel satisfied.

With my *mess*,I'm going to be munching on it for a while,30g of squirty cream is actually quite a lot-and because sstrawbs are what we call "filling foods"-I am likely to feel like Im actually putting something in my tummy.Ive allowed myself 1 a day-after my evening meal...and I've found having that to look forward to makes it really easy to avoid other suff during the day.

Right,Im off to bed-I want to get in a couple of minutes on the biggest loser whilst DH is still here in the morning:)
  • I'm really enjoying Show Me The Monet too. I've been wondering how much it changes an artist when they study art. I guess learning technique and maybe just the sheer hours you have available to create. Interesting though.
I like David Lee's comments best - though I read he doesn't approve of Antony Gormley and I loved AG's Blind Light and the Trafalgar Square thing too.
Sorry, this is probably off topic. Forgive a newby trying not to think about food!
