    - 2lb for me this week.

Just back from my induction at the gym as part of my GP referral - the programme they have given me seems a bit easy and didn't really push me. Maybe I have been watching the Biggest Loser too much and expected to be worked hard.:D

Going to try Zumba this afternoon. My coordination is terrible, but hopefully won't embarress myself too much.

Out for a bike ride yesterday so another 9.61 miles to add to my total bringing me to 26.65 miles.

Ah, i'm feeling the burn from this gym session today. I started off on the tread mill and did the hill programme for a bit, and then i jogged for a lil bit, then stopped and cranked up the incline again. Then i did the step machine and the rowing machine followed by the weights. I'm cream crackered!! My heart rate was 180 odd after i had jogged a bit.

Dinah: Don't give up! You never know, it could be anything....water retention or just a big poop! Carry on and see if theres anything you can tweak that you normally do?

Thanks Vix and Eric, I think I'll try logging what I eat this week, see if it helps. Been feeling a bit under the weather so drinking more than usual, doubt that could affect it much but I guess its possible. It's more likely I've just been far too carby! I've got a tummy bulge again (where I always seem to carry weight) and I want it gone, I refuse to grow back out of my jeans again - I'll stomp my foot and everything!

Okay I've gone on food focus to log my food and despite thinking I've been good, I'm absolutely horrified!

    To sum up:
    Cals: 1649
    Fat: 54g
    Carb: 224g
    Protein: 76g

And I haven't even had tea yet! If I wanted to maintain then today isn't appauling, but once I throw dinner in there the likelyhood is I'll go over a maintaining level. Thank you Eric for suggesting I log my food, I definately think I need to start planning and tracking better.

  • Reporting a STS This week Thanks Fred :A

Just downloaded them thanks :) I'll give them a go. I don't like the run/walk/run thing, I just like to run as far as I can so just downloaded the last few

I would say you only need week 8 & 9 then - week 8 is 28 mins running and week 9 is 30 mins with a 5 min warm up walk and 5 min cool down walk. HTH

Alliwant the rough formula for a female max HR is 226 minus age (220 for males). This is VERY rough though and it can vary in individuals by some +/-30bpm. I tend to use heart rate data just for feedback to see how hard I've worked in one session compared to another, I don't bother with zone training anymore (any zone is a 'fat burn' zone). To me, any time I get out there and run is 'good', whatever the average HR :). Oh and btw congrats on your progress! :D

Thanks Missy :D I will have to say I have suprised myself with the ability to complete the challenge. Looking forward to my first 5k which is the race for life in July. 1 yr ago I would of never of thought I would be running for enjoyment

  • STS - probably due to the blow out Chinese I had yesterday for DH's birthday. And the slice of birthday cake.....and the two glasses of wine....

a sts for me please fred.

Glad you have may have found the 'problem' Dinah. It can be so frustrating when the weight goes up for no 'obvious' reason.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

Sorry it's a bit late - silly internet connection always decides to fail when I need to do something!

I have managed a 1.5lb loss this week - yay! - despite being severely restricted exercise-wise (blasted ankle) so no miles to add. I WILL be getting back to it this week, one way or another!

Just wanted to check if anyone is counting swimming lengths against the Eurovision Challenge?

I don't go swimming myself, but can be counted. I remember it being mentioned when we started.

I was thinking of another theme for the next challenge - I was thinking about no of hours of exercise - so we could aim for one whole day (1 full day 24 hours of exercise in a month of one half day (12 hours) - what do you all think?

I like that idea as it means that we can count any exercises, not just ones that we can log somehow. It might tempt me back into using some of my workout games/DVDs.

Well I'm logging a :(2 lb gain :( this week - not happy about it, and don't think it's accurate as I've done pretty well this week. I have thought about it and the only thing I can think of is that I ate quite a bit of smoked salmon yesterday (can't resist the stuff!), so I'm thinking that it may be a salt related gain. Either way, it has motivated me to make even more of an effort so I'm hoping to lose it, hopefully plus extra, next week.
