well done! what's ur diet like now??

Pretty much the same... today i've eaten cheerios, a ham sandwhich with crisps (a warbutons thins bread, not normal bread!) and tonight im going to the harvester. Yesterday i had a Korma, i've had ribs and chips other days in the week. I'm just exercising more, and trying to cut things out. I'll snack on fruit instead of chocolate for those moments when i feel like i might get hungry later!

I always need something to act as a catalyst for me though. Like when i was on my crutches it really toned up my arms, which made me want to continue that. Then i guess when i was ill i didn't fancy food much so it made me carry that on. Its actually been quite easy for me so far, but i think this last 10lbs is gunna be a mighty struggle!!

I forgot to mention my gym workout!! There was a bloody fire alarm in the middle of it (grr, although the firemen didn't disappoint!) but i just got re stuck in. Think i did another 5k for FRED or so but i omitted the rowing machine this time, i find it gives my hands blisters :/ I've done about 15k + this week!! Don't think i've ever done anything like that before!

Yey!! Back on the net finally!! :)

Catching up on my run totals for the Eurovision challenge...
    5th ~ 3.85m
    7th ~ 3.86m
    9th ~ 5.63m
    and today ~ 5.56m!
So with my first run already posted, I'm at a total of 22.75 miles! Thanks FS

My brother is down for a visit for a couple of days, I invited him out for a run with me this morning as a joke, expecting him to turn me down, but he came out with me!
I didn't push myself as much as normal as I was going easy for him, but we still managed it in about an hour. Quite nice to do something like that with him :)

So I am going to have to try again either tomorrow or saturday now but on the flat rather than on an incline :o

When I first went to the gym, the trainer told me that you shouldn't have the treadmill completely flat as it's not a natural position for running (or something :o) and bad on your legs and feet. He advised to always have a slight incline of 1.0

    *runs back into thread breathless*

I'm here.... kind of. Polkadot just gave me a nudge on facebook, so I'm peeking my head through the door to say hi, and apologise for not being able to contribute as often as I used to. Not that there isn't plenty of chatter still going on here, it's taken me 15 mins to catch up on the chat, and what's been going on the past few days. Hello to the new members, sounds like you're getting into the swing of things on here.

mandz1 - so sorry to hear of your loss, my very bests wishes and condolences to you and your family xx

Jess - congratulations on the new job

Betty - I hope the interview went well

Beanie - how are you doing, managing to get out much?

Victory - how are you getting along now? Is your l/o doing his SATs at the mo, if so, how did he get on?

Fred - I forgot to post my loss this week, but it wasn't exactly going to have a huge impact for the SS team, as it was only 0.5lb. I'll try to remember to post next week, but I won't be around next Weds, as I'm in London, so will endeavor to do it beforehand.

So, as Polkadot said, I've been very busy. The cake business is taking off well, and I've got orders now coming in. Next week is the Press Launch for the posh store in London, and I'm providing the cakes for their goodie bags. I'll be working flat out all w/end and early next week preparing and making those. Then we delivery them mid-week, and the rest of the week I'm making an 18th birthday cake. I've just been so busy sourcing packaging materials, sorting out supplies, and organsing so many things to do with the business and marketing, that my time isn't my own. Combine with that the fact that my OH is trying to set up his own motorbike business, we've been out on the road doing several trips collecting/delivering for him too. We sound like a right pair of entrepreneurs don't we, but we're not like that at all, believe me.

I've got several other orders in now for birthday cakes, and I'm doing trips out to have a look at farmers markets to see if I fancy doing any in my local area. I've decided that the 1st year of running my business is going to be about marketing, networking and getting myself and the business name out there, which doesn't necessarily come easily to me, so it's outside my comfort zone right now, but it is paying dividends. If anyone wants to see what I'm doing, PM me and I'll give you a link to my website or FB page, just in case you feel like being nosy :D

The only spanner in the works at the mo is that my youngest seems to have developed some tics, that on researching show that he may well be suffering from Tourettes. We've not really made a big deal out of it up until now, although he's had them for a couple of years, in various guises, but they are starting to distress him now, which is hard to see him going through. He's about to go up to senior school this autumn, and I think he's scared that it will make him stand out, and that he's going to be seen as 'odd'. Bless him, he's only 10, and you don't want to see your kids worrying about stuff like this, especially when he clearly has no control over what he's doing. Anyway, I've discussed it with his form teacher, who seemed supportive, and I am waiting for an appt. to see our GP to see if we can get in touch with someone who might offer advice on coping strategies for him. Unfortunately he seems to display both simple, complex and internal tics, which is why I'm convinced it is Tourettes, and not just a little habit he's got.

Right, now to put on my other hat, and go off into the kitchen to prepare tea.... it's gonna be something simple, again, as I just don't think about meal planning right now, hence the weight is stuck. Have a great weekend guys.

Haha, I wish it was that exciting!! It might pay better too. ;)

I was very brave and went up north today, and I did look out for you in Tenterden Vix, but reckon we were too late to spot you & your folks. Isn't it a lovely town though? Wasn't quite so keen on Ashford mind you.
