Well I've come to confess :o. I had a chinese takeaway earlier... and feel well and truly sick now :(.
I'd been wanting one for a couple of hours - no idea why as I've not had one for over 6 months now, but ended up giving in. So I can see a definite gain this week.

I've burnt 1600 exercise cals since sat (and am doing more tonight) so hopefully that should help, but I struggle to lose much even when I've eaten relatively well, so I don't think I've got any hope after eating all of that carp.
Oh well, I've got it out of my system now, and I know that I won't want to eat it again for a very long time (I'd like to say never, but know that's not likely!) - it really was awful though, I can't believe I used to have one almost every week.

Right, I'm off to hop on the bike.

MUST. BURN. OFF. AWFUL CHINESE CARP!!!

    Evening all,

I thought I'd pop my head round the door to say hello. I do try to keep up to speed with what you're all doing.

World_of-tights - sometimes you just lose your mojo, or I find I do. I totally understand that feeling like you're not being very indulged. I think it's cheapest to indulge yourself with food (usually cheap, nasty, fat, salt & carb filled food, but it tastes nice!) when pennies are tight. If you're cutting back on food indulgence, how else can you afford to indulge? I try to find other food indulgences, because it's part of my psyche, it's how I was raised. Today I had a big bowl of strawberries with a couple of dollops of low fat squirty cream. It felt naughty, but I know it wasn't really. I'm not a soaking in the bath, painting your nails, creating a home-spa kind of girl. I get bored in the bath, but I do find that having time to myself is rare, so for a real treat I like to indulge myself with time, when I can. Just reading a book from the library for a few hours is a treat. I buy myself a good quality jar of coffee so that I get a nice cuppa at home... it's still cheaper than Starbucks. Let yourself have an indulgent food treat each week, even if it's a bar of basics chocolate for 32p. Why is it we call taking care of ourselves, and our needs, indulging anyway? We all need a bit of TLC, even if it's provided by ourselves. Another treat for me is to have fresh laundry on the bed, getting into it after a refreshing shower & slapping on some body butter (Xmas pressie), then lying there reading for a while. Lovely. Another treat BF and I have is to go to Mcdonalds, buy a coffee/tea (collect the tokens for the free coffee/teas too), sit in a window seat and people watch. We can easily while away an hour or so doing that, nattering away. Simple things like that can make all the difference.

Hi Betty, good to see you again. Glad the job seems to be going well for you. Are you feeling happier now you're out of the house again? As for a food plan, which one can you see yourself enjoying doing the most, or, which one can fit into your lifestyle the best? You know SW can work, and it encourages cooking from scratch, but how committed are you going to be to any plan? The key to any plan is planning it ahead, having meals organised, and snacks too. Why not try a week or two doing each plan you've mentioned, and see which one suits you best? Then at least you'll have given them all a chance, and chosen the one that fits your lifestyle now. How about setting yourself a mini-target, that if you lose 1 stone, then you will set the wedding date? It's a positive thing to aim for, with a happy ending in mind. Be realistic with your timeframe, so give yourself until Christmas to do it (I know a steady 2lb a week would be 2 months, but I'm being gentle with you).

My weight has been up & down. Gained 3lb last week, lost 0.5lb this week. Can you believe I did the 0.5lb loss on 3 fast food meals in a week!? Home & work has been busy. I'm also out & about with OH when he's doing his work some days too, as we try to create a day out of him fetching/delivering items in his van. We can't afford to socialise, or go out other times, and try to limit trips out in the car anyway, so we grab our chances when we can. I've got 5 weeks until we go to visit my oldest friend at her home in Europe, and I'd dearly love to have dropped best part of half a stone or more (please, baby Jesus!) by then, so I feel a bit more comfortable with myself. I'm about a stone lighter than I was when I met her last year, but it doesn't really show that much, in the whole scheme of things when you start off pretty heavy anyway. So, my mini-target is to get under the magic stoneage barrier before we go away, which is 9lb away. I'm going back to Day 1, Week 1 from tomorrow, and hoping for a good initial loss to give me a head-start.

So, that's my fresh start started. I will try to get to the gym when I can to help things too, that's also been intermittent, but I've done a fair bit of gardening at home to help. I find when I'm baking I tend to eat less, so latter half of this week will help, as I'm preparing for another festival this w/end.
