fredsnail/others - Thanks for including me on the previous challenge I did and also for the congrats.

fredsnail - Thanks for summarising what challenges there are. For now, I'll try again for another 5lb per month weight loss. When did the other challenges begin please - last Wednesday or from 1st July?
    Thanks.

1 hour 30 mins yesterday, 1 hour today... will need to take it up a bit if I'm to complete my 48 hours!

really good today and the Sainsbury's sea bass was lovely on salad for lunch! :D (took one of the butter pieces out and it was buttery enough so I don't know why they put in soo much...)

must go for an hour swimming tomorrow and not be lazy! (repeat 50 times and it should work :P )

Hey everyone. I would really quite like to join in the 5lb monthly challenge and weigh in on here again but its so annoying that my slimming world dont weigh in until a thursday so it feels a bit odd lol. Had an odd day today. Had a late breakfast of duck eggs and toast this morning and then was really ill, not from that though, i think the lasagna from the fridge was past its best so i was doubled up on the sofa wanting to cry. Feeling much better now and have since scoffed an apple, banana and orange (didnt feel better till way after lunchtime) and am blimming ravenous! Once I have picked my flatmate up from the station I will be having my home made low fat chicken and veg pie (AMAZING!) but no longer am i allowed to put a puff pastry top on it lol with fried (in fry light may i add!) new potatoes (the tinned ones that go all crispy) and corn on the cob.Sooooooooo looking forward to it!

Vix - go you for getting into the gym enough to see real progress :)

Lolly: If that were me i would have chased that person down!!!!! Can't get away with that behaviour, what if it had been the other way around????? Unfortunatly a lot of people who operate those really.....can't. My father for example, i hate it when he's on that thing steering himself!

I thought I would have done the same in that situation, but was in shock! Was so worried about my poor baby car that I didn't think about anything else!
I think that mobility scooters are a great idea for some, but definitely agree that some people should not be using them. There is a man who lives on a very busy but narrow road near us who always drives straight into the road from behind parked cars, he seems oblivious to traffic! I've had to slam my breaks on a number of times to avoid either hitting him, or the car in front of me that has had to stop for him.
There should definitely be more regulations on the use of them; I think the DVLA are pushing for it, let's hope they succeed!

Well here's an update on my hula hooping... I can now keep the hula hoop up for 5-6 seconds at a time! :rotfl: A huge improvement for me, lol :o. I still can't get the hang of it so think it will be a while before I can actually use it as a form of exercise! Saying that, I guess all of the bending and lifting must be helping in some way :D

The shake weight is going well. I do think that my arms are slightly less flabby, although I may just be imagining it! Will keep at it and hopefully see some more definite results soon.

Hello! Long time no see gang!

First month at my new job has gone well, fingers crossed i'm doing ok and will pass my 3 month probation period ok.

However, the diet and exercise has not been going well. i haven't weighed myself in weeks, but i reckon i'm 11 and a half stone :(

so, here i am again with my tail between my legs, feeling fat and frumpy. OH and i are trying to decide a wedding date and venue, but all i can think is 'i'm too fat to get married'!!

Fred - if it's ok i'd like to take on the 5lb challenge for july

exercise-wise, i'm planning to start going to the gym a couple of times a week after work.

    diet-wise, my options are:
    1. Cal counting - did it before, works well combined with exercise. but i cook from scratch a lot and i find it hard to keep track of cals even with foodfocus.co.uk cos of all the ingredients and measurements etc in my home cooked dinners
    2. low(ish) carbs, high protein and veg/fruit. Eric is the expert here i suppose! My aim would be quite basic though, just to cut down on carbs so they are a smaller percentage of my meals
    3. SW - i know it works. it's a bit of a hassle with all the counting etc, but it is fairly simple and good for you in general, with a heavy focus on fruit and veg. But I am scared cos if I dont stick to it i might put loads on again like last time. I lost about 6lb and then put on a stone! so I am not sure.

    any ideas?? :undecided

At the moment, for this week, I've done:

    29 June - 41minutes

    30 June - 1 hour 21 mins + 41mins + 29mins + 10mins + 30mins

    Yesterday - 38 minutes + 16 mins + 1 hour + 30mins

    Today - 41minutes

    bad day today :(

didn't make it to the swimming pool - my own fault, went to Tesco and was laazyyy afterwards...

not behaved food wise too :( had coffee for breakfast then some chocolate() and the worst part: late lunch of dumplings with fried onions and bacon :o will have roast chicken with salad for dinner...

must not allow any more days like that as they really deprive me and put me off the track...

gu chocolate mousses from the Sainsbury's meal deal glitch don't help either... :o but they are soo yummy and I keep making excuses and try to convince myself that they aren't that bad as it's dark chocolate etc. but I know they are NOT good for me... :( had only one so far but there are four more calling my name from the fridge

hope you lot are much better today... :)
