Welcome back DMV too - when do you find out about your 2 stone award?
efrieze - Did you have a nice holiday ? Well done on the STSRestarting C25K in 2014 - Week 8 - 1/3 completed
Need to loose 25lb / 3lb lost so far0 -
Great to hear from you dmv - so pleased you were able to get onto a pgce course this year, after last years frustration. Excellent news about the 2st! Oh, and welcome to the south:D
Puds, good to here you are ok and that your absence is down to positive reasons.
all iwant - it does seem unfair to be left with excess skin after hard work losing weight the healthy way.
Hope the injuries heal up soon eric.
Looly - that is quite some revelation to have about your mum. I hope the knowledge will help you deal with the situation and stay on track with your healthy eating choices.
I know there were a number of other responses I wanted to make but now forgotten:doh:.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -

I'm 20 year old female, 5' 6" and 12 stone. At my heaviest at 16 I was 14st. My lowest was in 2009/10 at 10st. However my 4st weightloss was sadly not down to any good effort on my part, as I suffered from depression and basically spent all my days indoors doing nothing, including not eating! Since I've got better I've gained 2 stone in happiness weight :rotfl:
Would like to ideally get back to the 10st and then head for 9st but much more loosely aim for that target. Essentially as long as I stay in the 9st range that would be great.
I am probably going to start Slimming World in July, I know its a gimmick but sometimes I think a gimmick can help to get a motivation boost. My Mum attended Slimming World for 1.5 years when I was younger and lost 3 stone in that time, so I know it works and I am pretty confident with what to eat and what not to eat, I just think a group of people I have to see every week might give me the motivation to not reach for the chocolate bar!
Right now I am currently looking forward to a holiday in Marrakech at the beginning of July, hopefully not too much of a gain there! I am going to start calorie counting (I know - again a gimmick but I find having something quantifiable helps me feel more focused than just eating healthily).
Wish me luck!
Welcome to the thread :j I do think that although calorie counting isn't an exact science, it is very helpful as it really opens your eyes to what (and how much!) you are eating and makes you think about your food choices - which helps you get into the dieting mindset.Minniethemoocher wrote: »Lolly, hope your Mum is a harmless "feeder" from misplaced maternal instinct rather than a saboteur....Brighton_belle wrote: »Looly - that is quite some revelation to have about your mum. Thanks Minnie and BB. I'm going to metion it the next time she brings food around and say that although it is lovely of her to think about us when shopping, that I'd prefer it if she didn't!
Fred - can you please add 200 flights, which makes 723 flights, or 6025 ft. Falling behind a bit - I now need to do 58 flights a day! :eek:0 -
Ted - So happy you're back
DMV: ooh your life has changed!! Sounds awesome! But, the most important q......south west or east?0 -

yep. in clinical trials 3500 cals has never equalled 1lb loss (or gain)
calorie counting and food logging is more about teaching yourself portion control, being aware of what you actually eat over the day / week and giving you a base line to adjust down or up when you start to plateau
FS 4.2 lb loss this week (the water retention from weight training has gone since I have stopped to heal my rotor cuff) this takes me to a total of 215.6 lbs0 -
Hey Everyone,
Well it's a 1 lb loss for me this week.I think it's more like 2 lbs as I'm almost down to the next mark on the chart (I weigh in on the Wii), so that will stand me in good stead for next week.
Congratulations to all the losers! :j0
