It also has a design flaw :rotfl:

I feel really dirty now! LOL, they are hilarious! :rotfl:
Oh well, I'll persist with it as I do think that it may just work. I've got 'normal' weights as well and the shake weight does seem to work my muscles a lot quicker - which may encourage me to use it more regularly.
On to my shocking news....
OMG - I've just realised that my mum is a Feeder!!! Over the last few months she's started bringing around 'bad' foods - pizza, pasta meals, cakes, buns, etc. It started off with her bringing them around lunch/tea time to eat with us, now she's just started bringing things around when she nips in - today she dropped off a box of egg custards!
I'm actually quite freaked out now I've realised, lol.
Right, I'm off to Tesco now as I've just eaten - I'm terrible for buying carp otherwise so make a point of going when I'm full!0 -

I am new to the forums but am very much interested in this thread
I'm 20 year old female, 5' 6" and 12 stone. At my heaviest at 16 I was 14st. My lowest was in 2009/10 at 10st. However my 4st weightloss was sadly not down to any good effort on my part, as I suffered from depression and basically spent all my days indoors doing nothing, including not eating! Since I've got better I've gained 2 stone in happiness weight :rotfl:
Would like to ideally get back to the 10st and then head for 9st but much more loosely aim for that target. Essentially as long as I stay in the 9st range that would be great.
I am probably going to start Slimming World in July, I know its a gimmick but sometimes I think a gimmick can help to get a motivation boost. My Mum attended Slimming World for 1.5 years when I was younger and lost 3 stone in that time, so I know it works and I am pretty confident with what to eat and what not to eat, I just think a group of people I have to see every week might give me the motivation to not reach for the chocolate bar!
Right now I am currently looking forward to a holiday in Marrakech at the beginning of July, hopefully not too much of a gain there! I am going to start calorie counting (I know - again a gimmick but I find having something quantifiable helps me feel more focused than just eating healthily).
Wish me luck!0 -
Hey Hey!
I had a really good gym sesh today, i managed 3k in under 20 mins, such hard work!! I'm trying to step up my workouts now, i feel that i was going and just banging out the same old stuff and obviously my body is finding it easier to do these things so i think i'll try and set new targets for myself.
Maryoshka: Yea, number 2 hot guy at the gym today so i didn't ask. It would have been a good opportunity because hardly anyone was in it. I need to man up!!0 -
Welcome, greensalad.
About SlimmingWorld, it is based on certain principles. It can work for some people. My stepdaughter has lost 7 stone using SW over the last year or so after many years of thinking that she couldn't lose weight. I wouldn't call it a 'gimmick'. What is gimmicky is something like Slimfast shakes.
Good luck!Ær ic wisdom funde, ær wearð ic eald.

No under % complete you have 0% - that's because you didn't tell me how far you were aiming to do at the beginning of the month.0 -

Yeah I think it is just a strict regime that 'teaches' people what others find common knowledge. I know when my Mum attended (I went along with her to classes as I was only around 9 years old or so) and learnt a lot. I think I even lost a little weight myself, as I have always been overweight. I think the principles it teaches are very useful, but its frowned upon by a lot of people because they think 'well, isn't that obvious?'0 -
misstams - sorry to hear DS is ill; hope he is better soon! Lolly, hope your Mum is a harmless "feeder" from misplaced maternal instinct rather than a saboteur....
We had a lovely picnic today, no rain and no crisps and flapjacks for me. So very please that I resisted.
I have lost 2 stone before with Slimming World but put it all back on again and then some. Lower carbing works for me better and I am planning to switch from low carb to low GI/GL for maintenance, which is were it always goes wrong for me.0 -
Hi all,
Just back from a few days holiday. Thought i had been really good - ate lots of salads and swam everyday. Was convinced I would have stayed the same - but just hopped on the scales and 4lb on. Only thing I can put it down to is eating more bread and having a few glasses of wine each night.
Thought I was getting my head around weight loss and calories - but if you really do need to eat more than 3000 calories to put on a lb of weight - then to put on 4 lb I must have overeaten 12000 cals in the 4 days I was away. The thing is I really don't think I did - so find it really confusing.
Will weigh myself on Wed my usual day and see what the damage is then.
Fred - while I was away OH bought me the Kettlenetics DVD and Kettle Bell set you told me about. Looking forward to trying it tommorrow. Have you used yours yet - what do you think?0
