This is simply not the case, if it was as you say it they would say it in writing and make it as clear as day. The diagram is just an illustration of a possible scenario, note there are two exits on the exit in the diagram someone could legitimately approach in right lane go straight across and if on exit there is someone to their left they could take the right lane on exit. But there is no diagram path of travel to show this, because they want to keep it simple.

They could also quite legitimately do that if there was only a single exit lane but the person on the right must always give way to the person on their left unless they are completely infront of them, not alongside..... (or their name is Strider :D)

Sorry to tell you that you are wrong.

I gave the correct procedure at post # 3.

Don't believe me, find a Grade 6 ADI, ( the best ) ask them.

One or two disagreeable comments on here that might want a response.

Quote: "Don't believe me, find a Grade 6 ADI, ( the best ) ask them." (No comment re. this particular post.
The problems aren't about driving skills, they are about the LAW, so no matter what a DI says, the law will be the governing factor.
(There are plenty of DI's on the road teaching others, and they shouldn't be on the road themselves. Their word is not law.)

Quote: "You don't always need to use your indicators on a roundabout."
You need to use your indicators ANYTIME you want to avoid a misunderstanding with other drivers.

Once worked with a guy who wrote off three cars in quick succession, BUT.... HE was always in the right!
e.g. Completed a right turn at traffic lights when the light for straight ahead turned amber. However, the car coming towards him, ignored the amber, and plowed into him midships at speed. Who was in the wrong?.... The one that got himself killed of course. (He didn't fortunately.)

It's not about the law, it's not about driving skills, it's about avoiding getting yourself killed.

Show us this " LAW " relating to lane usage at roundabouts then.;)

At least an ADI will have had their driving / teaching skills assessed on a regular basis, which I suspect is more than most of the experts on here will have.

I didn't mention any 'law' for roundabouts.
It was purely a reference to driving in general.

Strange how everytime I mention the highway code in my own defence in the past, all I hear is "highway code is not the law" and "it's more of a guideline".
“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Parts are the law, parts are a " guideline ".

You seem to be confused, nobody stated " the driving instructor said ".

No you didn't. Which rule of the H.C. states your procedure in post #3.

One reason why some of them become an ex ADI.

Presumably you consider yourself to be one of these experts.

The Highway Code is not law. It is a set of rules.
