  • hi....at a local cake making shop they sell off cuts of sponge in a bag for 30p....its lush and we have
    eaten it out of the bag
    made lots of trifles
    made a black forest thing with cream and cherries

    it comes in vanilla and chocolate

    has anyone got any ideas for more ways to use such a bargain ? :j

    I would heat some up and smother in jam, curd, syrup or choc sauce and slather in lashings of custard :)mmmmmmm

    Again I agree with eating it one tea-time, accompanied by a good strong cup of tea.

    This is a great idea, would suggest sprinkling with a little water before heating though if it is a little dry.

    Much as I love trifle I think it is a waste of good cake which is tasty in it's own right! Stale works well though.
