When I baked a batch of fairy cakes that were a bit overly done, I blitzed them into crumbs in the processor and mixed them with some buttercream and shaped into small balls. Then, I dipped them in chocolate and let them set - truffles. :)

  • A couple of quick and easy options.

Cut up and make into trifle sponges. Otherwise cut up and layer the bottom of a dish, top with ice cream and meringue, bake in oven - baked alaska.

    Hi Anna,

I warm it in the microwave and serve with custard too. There are lots more ideas on this thread:

    Make trifle with it

Never let success go to your head, never let failure go to your heart.
  • Make trifle with it
You use the cake to make the (trifle sponges bit). Then just add jelly, custard and cream. Simple as that.

spread some jam on it, or put jam in the bottom of a basin, cover with the sponge and give a couple of minutes in the mw,
hot jam sponge with custard, did it my self on Tuesday and it was blumming gorgeous.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.
