Well I guess I'm now a creditor too

Bought a car off them last November and took a 3 year warranty for £659
Now [naively, I guess] I understood the warranty was from Car Care Plan, the paperwork certainly lets you assume this, and I was simply buying a policy from CCP with Autoquake as the agent, not so..........
My car has developed a problem so I rang CCP, no chance, it looks like Autoquake were doing a bit of self insurance & paying the bills themselves for breakdowns/faults - as Autoquake are no more, CCP are not interested - polite - but not interested
So I reckon I'm about £570 down on the deal

As they say............ everyday is a school day

Some people were delayed due to other customers not adhering to their appointment times and thus having a knock on effect to other customers also some customers turned up early so yes they would've had to wait to be seen until their allotted appointment time yet they still said they were kept waiting over an hour. In some instances the staff were having to juggle two appointments at a time.

While i have no experience of this particular company, common sense would suggest that where you want to make the customer feel special and build rapport that you do not treat them like cattle being milked. Any company that was so bothered about customer satisfaction would have picked up on this trend for appointments running late, having to take 2 at the same time etc and would have either lengthened the appointment time or lengthened the time between appointments.

As for anyone who was a customer and has monies owed to them by this company, if you paid by credit card then your credit card provider may be jointly liable and you may get your money back after all.

Anyone who paid by debit card, you could always try and see if your bank or VISA will help out. I think VISA chargeback only applies under £100 but its always worthwhile asking.

I got a sports car from them a year ago. Took out a three year warranty and roadside assistance plan. Never used the service until yesterday car would not start, Rang up for roadside assistance only to be told its no longer valid as carcareplan/Autoquake has gone in to adminsitration.I asked about my warrenty for the next two years said he cant comment on that ((.

He informed me that a letter will be sent out with infrormation about how to claim this money back. Also said that he thinks that i will recive a refund on this.I belive that when it happens.

Suppose its going to tell me to write to the administrators who are MCR.On the plus side was just a dead battery in the car , got a jump and enjoyed the sunshine )))

Apart from the above problem.I found them good to deal with.Did what it said on the tin.Go to a carwarehouse and test drive the car you like.Yes its like a cattle market but thats why i got its a grand cheaper than anywere else and so far its been a good car.And like ALL second hand cars you take a gamble. They also got me finanance when i could not get any else were )

I agree last summer there were delays but this was remidied as this was a learning curve for the business.

"Learning curve"? Lol.... The business has just gone into administration, that is more like a "Downward spiral"

And yes I am an ex employee and Autoquake is not, was not as bad as some people make out!!

In my book, any company where the employees post fake reviews are just as skanky as the skanky company that employs them. Autoquake/Groupon/Groupola - the same - skanky.

Got a letter from the administrators this morning informing me that, if I needed to claim on the warranty I would have to register my claim along with all the other unsecured creditors

I'm in the same boat as you mcfisco. I bought a car with three years' warranty in December, and received my letter from the administrators this morning. I'm going to give the Visa chargeback route a go, but I won't be holding my breath.

One thing I wasn't clear on from the letter is whether the roadside recovery and assistance is now null and void as well, or just the warranty. What do you reckon? The letter's very badly written and it's difficult to decipher what the situation is with the breakdown cover! It would be strange for Autoquake to provide breakdown cover directly, so perhaps that's still intact. Then again, it's strange that Autoquake was underwriting the warranty itself--like you, I assumed that it was provided by a third party and that Autoquake was just the 'middle man' taking some commission, but it would seem not!

From what I know now - after speaking with CCP - They run the breakdown/roadside assistance the same as the warranty

i.e. when you need help/work, they simply commission an independent garage to come and sort you out
The invoice is then sent to Autoquake to be settled

I may try the debit card charge-back but can you just charge back a portion of the payment?
As I said, I reckon I'm about £590 down [that being the portion or the warranty cost I can't now use] but it was all paid in one lump in with the cost of the car
I wonder if I can charge the whole lot back & let them have the car back :)

I was seen straightaway when I bought my car off them earlier this month. No waiting at all.

Wasn't made to feel like cattle in the slightest. I wonder if some people expected too much of their customer service? It's like comparing Ryanair and British Airways. If I wanted to be treated like a king I'd go and buy a Bentley.

Fortunately I turned down a warranty and I do feel for those that have spent all that money for what could now be nothing.

If i wanted treated like a king i'd hire someone else to go buy the bentley and possibly dress like a man :D

And cheaper prices does not always mean you sacrifice good customer service. Quite ironic you used BA/Ryanair in your example. Ryanair, the company who dont care that they offer bad customer service because as the owner said, their prices are so cheap, people will come back regardless. However a 2 hour flight is hardly comparable to a car that people may be looking to last them 5 years or more that they may use on a daily basis.
