    ......er..............no you didnt!

I have better things to do. :rotfl:
  • It's rare to hear from SATISFIED customers, as why would they bother to look up the forums? They've got better things to do. It tends to be people with a chip on their shoulder, for whatever reason, that bothers to post anything!

So I'd like to redress the balance somewhat!

Saw a salesman last Sept.07. Yes, he did call himself a Marketing Manager, but so what? He was a really nice guy, told me immediately it would take 2 hours to describe the product & company and measure up for the quote – we couldn’t spare the time then, so he re-arranged for next week. He saw us promptly as re-arranged. He had a folder which, as he admitted, helped him to ensure he’d covered everything about his product, and he followed it through, answering our many questions politely and truthfully. He’d updated some pictures to local houses he’d done recently, and gave genuine names as references – a nice touch I thought. This took an hour, but was worth it, and yes, he did ask permission to carry on half way through. This format seems designed to answer all a customers’ questions without too much verbiage, so I don’t mind that it’s obviously scripted. Why not? The guy must see two couples a day every day - is he expected to describe the product in a different way each time? I think people here are being very harsh on a guy clearly just doing his job. Anyway, he then measured up and gave us a quote. We’d told him we could only afford a certain amount, but he quoted us for well below that anyway, for the front only. He admitted that they only quote for the front first as people are often reluctant to spend much when they don't know the product, but that they often do the rest of the house once they have lived with it a while and know how good it is. Yes, we did get the display property discount, “quelle surprise” – but he went beyond that ‘cos I then said we’d like to know how much the whole house would cost. He measured up again and then suggested that we do the front now to close down the discount (and his deal, no doubt!), but then he would come back next month and finish the whole house for us. He quoted £2,500 for the front, but only £5,750 for the whole house. Now I checked this afterwards as I work for the MOD in contracts. We’ve got a big house – the best price I could get for render alone was £3,500, (no guarantee) and this product is far better than that, with a 20 yr guarantee.
We asked him for time to think about it and he said we could, but only overnight, which I thought was fair enough – how long does one need to think about a deal anyway?
Rang him next day and said he could do it, and he came over that day specially. I know he lives 50 miles away, so fair’s fair, this was good.
Sure enough, he and the company were true to their word. The front was done within the week, and I didn’t even have to pay them until they came back a month later and did the sides and back, then I paid for the lot. They used scaffolding and went out of their way to avoid damaging our garden, even bridging our glass conservatory really well! Brilliant deal, and we’re really pleased with the product, the house looks superb! If anyone wants to see a photo of our house, I’ll happily send it to them, and am also happy to tell them more about the benefits – they’re exactly as the salesman describes in his spiel!
So I say, give the guy a break, he’s there to make a sale if he can (who isn’t?) and will do his best within the parameters set for him by the company to help you buy the product – if you don’t want it, tell him so!! I’m sure he doesn’t want to waste his time any more than you want to waste yours, but you’ve got to listen before you’ll know if it’s any good! We’re sure glad we did.

    A satisfied customer.

Oops, sorry about posting this 3 times - at least this shows I'm not a spammer, just a newbie to this site that doesn't know when the posting has gone through or not! Sorry to have bored anyone with the repetition!!!

You've posted identical update on blagger.com - I'll let others draw their own conclusions.
"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"

Sorry, didn't know doing a Google search and posting a positive comment on a few sites 'cos I'm a satisfied customer was so heinous a thing! Seems like everyone objects if you say that something's OK, but no-one questions if some one says terrible things about a company/salesman. No wonder bad news travels so fast!

Of course my comment was identical, I use cut and paste to save time, same as everyone!

Look, all I want to do is say that perhaps not everything is wrong with Protectacoat, and that if I got a good deal, so could someone else (with the right salesman, naturally).

Surely the purpose of this site, and Blagger, and others I use for info, is to help people decide? Well, how can they decide if all that's posted are negative comments by what seems to be disaffected salesmen or competitor companies? How is that fair?

    Regards...

Someone comes to my front door and starts getting abusive, they will be lucky to walk away without a punch in the chops

I would kick their !!! too! lol knocking on my door and being agressive - the cheek!

The Only "random" person that can knock on my door is the guy that checks the meter once a year!

Anyone else and they would get a firm NOT INTRESTED!

Mind you there was one johvis witness (excuse the spelling!) that came to my door and she spoke so politely, I was having a bad day and I bit her head off not literally I must add!! she wont come back lol but I genuinely felt quite bad about it.
  • I think the easiest thing to do if you are in any way scared, worried, unsure or just don't enjoy arguing with ANY roving "salesmen" (not just in this topic, but in general) is just tell them the house you are in is RENTED or HOUSING ASSOCIATION then you won't see them for dust. Look at it this way: if their product was really that amazing wouldn't YOU be calling THEM?
At the end of the day if their best subject at school was smoking cigarettes they still have to make a living somehow;) .
You can't go wrong with carpet bombing...
  • For the last month i've been working for one of these companies called Apex which in actual fact is all the companies, yup they all work for exactly the same higher power (a man named David Munn) and change they're name regularly be it andura, mosaic or peak. I have just handed in my weeks notice because it is a !!!! job, we work 6 days a week and have no basic wage. Theres apparently a basic £100 but we've never seen this because apparently we get loads of out of criterias but everyone of us is being treated like !!!! and told the exact same thing so we've had enough.
One of the posts about people not staying is true i joined a month ago and my ID code was 181, since iv been there 3 people have stayed and the recent intake the highest number is 240. we get new people twice every week, brought in with lies in ther interview and training, promises of good money, i got paid £15 for one week, thats below minimum wage by a hell of a lot. even the highest i got (£175) was everyone congratulating me for it was less then i got for doing less hours in a warehouse!
Now if you want to get rid of any of these people all you have to do is say your a tenant, if you want help spotting them this is the script, word perfect (although no one says it that way):
Hello, sorry to disturb you, it's ok i'm not selling anything, i've been asked to inform house owners in the road, i'm sorry are you the house owner or a tenant?
Well, because most of these houses were built before the war there is going to be a team of technical advisors carrying out an exterior wall assessment on all these houses to see how they've stood up so well against the weather conditions.
So i'll leave you this leaflet as i have done for your neighbours, it explains exactly how we carry out the assessment and most importantly confirms that it's completely free of charge without any obligation
All that we ask is that if you do need another assessment in the future that you would bear us in mind 1st before going through the yellow pages
Now what will happen next is our office will give you a telephone call to organise when they can do the assessment for you, most of your neighbours have said they'd prefer this to happen in the evenings, whats best for you, days or evenings?

if i sign them up the lead will go to head office (ealing) and be called, then an appointment will be made and when they go to "carry out the assessment" they'll spend 20minutes looking at your walls and about 3 hours pitching you a wall coating (yes the direct sales script is about 3 hours long)
If anyone cares enough to complain they have an office in reading at 106 london street, Stewart (the branch manager) is there with us monday-friday 10:30-2:00, saturdays we dont have training.
i dont have the phone number on me at the moment, hope this helped people but yeah
oh and dont be mean to people on the door, you just need to say your not interested, but firmly or say your a tenant and we leave you alone. also dont worry about old people, they're categorised as TOV and we get fined if we sign them up, you ahve to understand we get paid little and its basically a job for people that can't get any others, over this week im looking for a job, hopefully one with a fixed salary
