Sometimes people need help, psychologically. It's as simple as that and I do think that we all have a responsibility to each other, to some degree.
If somebody is working a job they hate, even with mental health problems, the onus is still on them to seek help - and there is an enormous amount of help out there for people. While our nation's foreign policy might make it seem that barging in as a "problem solver" is all well and good, it isn't really feasible in a society. I'll feel bad for anyone who is that upset with their life that it affects them on a significant level but I do agree with Dr Cox and my partner that unless they ask for help, as harsh as it may sound, then there is nothing that can be done about it.
But, from another point of view, why should you have to quit that job? It isn't the job you hate, but the boss. Do you have internal procedures you can follow in order to try and resolve the issue?
Hahaha. Do what I do, as a former Londoner, and don't make eye contact. No one offers you anything if you don't make eye contact! We went for a meal at a restaurant just to the east of the Wallen near the central railway station and I got offered crack the moment I walked out the door. :rotfl:
Ah well, either you spent a fair bit of time here or you have a good memory! It's good to have explained it anyway, as I'm sure a lot of people wouldn't know what a kamer is.

I used to live in Antwerpen. The blue light district runs all day too not just all night, but then is is near the docks and the Russian !!!!! area.
If you ever go into Bruxelles Nord / Brussel Noord train station heading in from the north sit on the right hand side of the train and look over the side of the bridge - 8.30am and the room are occupied.
It is also not just women. In Antwerpen you get tranvestive prositiutes too.0 -
The part of the article I found interesting was:
"There was a strip party bus, lap-dancing, and even a brothel that offers free sex provided you agree to be filmed. And many of the British stag groups had at least some, if not all, members buying sexual services."
If I read this article and my OH were off on a stag do to these places mentioned, I would be worried like the OP!:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

I've been to Brussels each year for the past three or four years for the BIFFF (Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival) and I've noticed the areas around there too. I've not ever gone close enough though to see much of it.
I have seen the Shipper's Quarter in Antwerp one time when I got very, very lost having taken a wrong turn out of the centre. I made a hasty exit after a number of beggars came along. :rotfl:
I can't be certain, but during my wander around the Wallen in Amsterdam I believe I saw a number of transsexuals/transvestites but I could be wrong.0 -
Can I offer an alternative view? (away from the prostitute/stipper debate)
I am really surprised that a weekend with the lads (whatever the planned activities may be) is more important to the OP's OH than the stability of their relationship
No he doesn't want to be 'left out' of course, but at the end of the day, when he's old and on his deathbed, what would he rather look back on and remember fondly - one sleazy weekend with his mates, or his wedding day??? If he were to lose one of these things, the OP or the weekend away, which would he regret losing the most??
A relationship is a partnership, and it takes compromise and sacrifice sometimes. the OP says that they are getting married soon, so he is obviously invested in their relationship as a long term thing. His mates will forgive him if he misses the stag do, they'll still be his friends, but his long term relationship may be irreparable if he goes...Betty B: The Eternal Procrastinator....

I know they operate during the day too. I only mentioned fri and sat night as that is when the creme de la creme seem to be there. There is a hugely noticeable difference between then and sunday daytime.February wins: Theatre tickets0

So Sunday daytime is when Wayne Rooney would visit then. Is that the sort of thing you mean?Set your goals high, and don't stop till you get there.

Hi
Sorry I havn't been able to get on the net for a few days. We are currently away skiing, we decided to go as it's been booked a while and was already paid for. Things aren't really much better, we left the UK with him saying that he knew what I meant from my point of view and that we should get through the week then talk after - synical of me but I think he just thought I'd forget. Just found out he's just paid for his share of the stag do and I'm not angry or upset anymore I'm just really disappointed0
