    Congrats Tru and bargainbird :j:j:j:j

And save-a-holic - if she's just back from a gap year travelling, she must have done something to earn money to go on it in the first place. Suggest she does the same thing if she wants to eat junk, and she needs to pay board and her share of the utilities too. Sorry but it makes me soooooo mad to hear of 20 year "children" sponging off parents. You're not a child at 20, you're an adult, so time to act like one!

bargainbird great news on the job smiley-happy107.gif

Got a letter from the DLA to say they need a GP report so it is going to be a while before my claim gets sorted they have all my consultant letters so I am a bit peed off to say the least especially as this is the third claim and I had to go to tribunal for the first and got an unanimious decision.

saveaholic and sistercass I am really starting to panic now about energy bills especially as we can't afford them now, so I don't know what will happen in the future - I am going to get DH build a solar cooker for the summer and the heating will have to stay off and we will all just have to layer up in the autumn and winter.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

  • Hi Guys!

Hope you’re all okay as I’ve not been following the threads.

Life has been very difficult the last 2 months. I had a fall a few weeks back and was rushed into hospital with suspected broken hip and arm. I had broken my elbow and 3 ribs and badly torn muscles on my left side. Had to stay in for a while and have basically been in bed since. It has flared my other illnesses and really knocked the wind out of me. Morphine top up injections have got me through. I had to have another operation last week and I have started on a new bone treatment which hasn’t sat well with me and the injections into my tummy have been painful. Have literally been sleeping and waking to eat and toilet. I can’t even dress myself at the moment or wash myself properly and have found it all very distressing. For the first time in a very long while, I wished I wasn’t here and could be put out my misery. I feel weak and frail. There is a lot more to the story but, I don’t have the energy to explain, but was in a bad place and suppose I still am to some extent.

On a positive note, DD went for a college interview and was offered a conditional offer. Her predicted GCSE’s are excellent, so don’t think she will have a problem. The course is equivalent to 4 A-levels and is 2 years full-time. We are of course, very proud of her and she continues to amaze me.

Anyway, I am not sure how often I will be able to pop by, but just wanted to let you know I’m still here.

    Take care guys!

    PP
    xx

  • Thanks Lowesy

I'm hoping that this gap year will have changed her from the spoilt selfish little creature that left (she was horrendously spoilt by both of her parents as a result of their split when she was 3).

Hopefully she will come back a more reasonable and adult person and we won't have any of these pre-gap-year issues that I am dreading....

Anyway, thank you to everyone for your encouraging words - I've pulled myself (with your encouragement) out of panic mode and joined the good fight once again!

I'm usually at work all day but I think being off sick is giving me too much time to think.... I've decided to take the plunge and try to make a sourdough starter (fingers crossed).

    Thanks again to everyone! :D

    Hi all

I am new to MSE forums, so here is a quick introduction.
I am a housewife with 2 grown up sons, still living at home, My DH runs his own training company.
    I have 2 dogs and 1 cat.
We moved into a brand new house last summer, so need to start from scratch in the garden.
I plan to make some raised beds to start growing some veg this year.
I need to reduce the amount of waste that our family currently has, (money, food, time etc) so I am sure that I can learn a lot from everybody here.
