You can't cancel if you've requested a PAC. You need to make a formal complaint demanding the PAC without delay and compensation for not providing it on two previous occasions. You could give 30 days' notice to end the contract if you don't request the PAC and still complain because of their inability/refusal to provide the PAC on two previous instances.

You have called them twice in eight months? Most people would have called back within a few days.
  • It's funny - but both times I called up and EE was offering a ridiculous deal - 20GB for about £8pm once the amazon card was factored in.

I think being screwed around twice - should be enough for me to move it to ofcom now - I just don't know how to complain to the regulator.

Would appreciate any advice - remember - I've recorded all the calls.

The advice of what to do is in post 122.

You need to be a little more proactive as well, if you're promised a callback and it hasn't arrived in 3 days you call back again, not wait 8 months...

  • Guys,

    I was quite straightforward.

We had a number of passings in the family - so on top of working and bringing up a family - I was running on fumes.

BT is a big company - I am the customer - I asked for a pac - I wanted to leave.

They've deliberately taken advantage and obfuscated. These are paid customer service agents - it is their job.

If I have been promised a callback on two separate recorded calls - is it too much to ask that they do what they claim?

Unfortunately, being frank, that isn't their concern, or the concern of anyone but you. It's got absolutely nothing to do with your port.
BT is a big company - I am the customer - I asked for a pac - I wanted to leave.

And due to your own lack of initiative you haven't done so.

So take the advice and put a complaint in. If you want quick action, phone and demand the PAC and don't take any excuse citing the OFCOM requirement for them to supply within 2 hours. If they don't comply put another complaint in. Post 122 tells you what to do.
A PAC must be provided to you immediately over the phone or within two hours by text. Once you have a PAC, it is valid for 30 days. If it expires, you can request a new one. In some circumstances there may be a charge for porting.

  • If you follow the link in Martins email to unshackled to buy a phone, be aware that they have a policy of only delivering to billing address.

Typical issues for ppl who work.

Carrier is DPD so if you live near one of their depots, no problem.

BT SIMO - WARNING - HELP

I need the community's advice and guidance - also this should serve as a warning to fellow forum members.

I signed up for a BT Sim only deal 2015 December.

When my contract was coming to a close - I called BT and asked for my Pac code. At that time on mse and hotukdeals - there were some seriously discounted deals from competitors - and many people were switching.

I was told that there was a problem with BT's pac system - somebody would call me back - and the PAC process would be imitated.

A few months passed - no call - we had a number of unexpected deaths in our family - so I had other priorities in those months.

April - Again called up and asked what was going on - give me my pac please. They threw £25 credit at me (keeping the money for the extra months). Again there were amazing competitor deals - so yet again I asked for my pac.

You won't believe this - for the second time on that same call - he said our 'systems are malfunctioning - somebody will call back and start the pac process'.

It is now September - and I am being very serious - BT are not giving me the PAC when asked for (twice).

All calls were legally recorded by me too.

How do I get out of this - they are holding me hostage on this contract and have been taking £21 per. month from my account for many months against my will. This is for a contract I had said I wanted terminated - on a call I recorded - this has happened twice.

I need your help and advice. Thank you to anybody willing to help.

    Leo.

    Hi all,

Given the new GDPR rules - I'm asking for guidance on how to request a copy of all my notes/discussions with/everything from BT.

Have I understood correctly - that this can be requested for free under GDPR?

Given that you appear to have ignored all advice so far, try googling it.
  • I received an email from BT mobile offering 100Gb of date, unlimited calls and texts for £20 per month. I called O2, my provider, and asked them "what they could do to help me about this" as I was paying £23 per month for 10Gb of data with calls and texts.
Guess what, they matched the data allowance of 100Gb for the same money as I was currently paying, and with unlimited calls and texts.....result:):):)
