    Oh gosh, and me :j
You only get one chance at living and it shouldn't be spent putting up with an unhappy home life - you deserve better and so do your children.

Good luck, keep us posted :D

Well done! Happy tears came to my eyes when I read you had put down the deposit.:j There are so many brilliant, friendly people on here that will give you emotional support as and when you need it. I know the money aspect will worry you but I have to tell you one of the best times in my life was when I was a skint single parent. Not having to answer to anyone, doing what made me and my DS happy, lying in the bath for hours reading a good book and sipping a nice (and cheap) glass of wine once my son was asleep in bed, having a fish finger sandwich for dinner because I felt like it, taking my son to the park to smell the roses and lying barefoot in the grass reading him 'Guess how much I love you' He still remembers doing this (he's now 12)
If you haven't already read it can I suggest you read Memorygirl's thread '71p and three nappies' the way this girl can stretch money is amazing, she is an inspiration. Also, don't be ashamed to tell people for 2 reasons, 1 you have done absolutely the best thing for you and your children ( it may be when your 16yo sees the nice peaceful life you are making that she realises she would like to have her life be like that too and ask to join you) and 2.friends and friends of friends may offer furniture, paint, babysitting etc because they want to help. When I moved I had 10 people helping me, by the evening everything was in place and unpacked. It was amazing. I, too have subscribed to your thread, I know you will be busy with organising your new life so no pressure to be posting regularly but let us know now and again how you are getting on.

To Pigpen and all the other amazing ladies who have been there and came through it, you are inspiring. Thank you.

I know exactly how you feel this is how I am all the time, it is hard but I still hold out the hope that one day I'l go unlike you I don't have my own income so would b e even more financially stuck than you I'm thinking of you and willing you to have the strength I haven't got. sending you hugs. x

To Nomuny, please don't let money or lack of it be the reason you deny yourself and your children a happy, peaceful life. You said yourself that Madame Cholet's post reminded you of yourself, well re-read this thread and imagine that all the people responding were talking to you. Get yourself a separate bank account, speak to Womens Aid, speak to the Council and Citizens Advice about housing, look into Working Tax Credit and getting a job, speak to your GP about counselling. Even just doing one of these things a week if it all seems too much to take on at once is a baby step but it's still a step towards freedom. Go on, I dare you! I'll be rooting for you.
