My employers are getting me a compny credit card - will i need to get a credit check

Hi Guys
In April it will be 5 years since i went Bankrupt.
My employers dont know anything about this and 2 years ago they made me a company director.
Now they say that they would like me to have my own copmpany credit card.
They said next time thyey go to the bank they will sort it for me :o
Will they just issue him with a card with my name on it or will the bank need to do a credit check on me?
I'd rather my employers were never to know about my personal past credit history as they are always banging on about how tight i am with money within the business. (thanks to learning the hard way)
Its only a small Limited company with 6 employees.
Many Thanks
simplez

Are you allowed to be a Director if you're bankrupt?

What sort of Director are you? A proper one, or just some fancy name they printed on the business card to impress customers?

Hi simplez, If its a corporate card then the company just add your name to the account and you have the card with your name on (just like of a second cardholder) as the company register the card and your the cardholder then its not usually credit checked.

    Best wishes

Hi Simplez; didn't want to read and run; so in my opinion I would think it highly unlikely that they would run a credit check on you as an individual. As it is a SME business I can only imagine that they (the Bank) have all the security in place from personal guarantees from the other directors (probably from those with the majority shareholding), so I would have tought it highly unlikely and the card you receive will be for the Company and not you as an individual.

I am sure someone will come along who can offer a bit more authoratative view but hope it all works out for you.

Hmm I get the feeling nobodys listening or even bothering to read what I post anymore

    oh well

Phil, look at the timings, you were probably all writing around the same time. Some people are slower typers and don't want to delete the post after they have done it if someone else has written something similar, which is fair enough.
