This is all causing you so much stress and worry, surely it will be easier in the long run to tell your boss? I take it there's nothing in your contract about BR so no worries about losing your job, it just means you might not get that company credit card, and I'm sure they'll manage. When I joined, I needed a name. your right it is causing me alot of stress
hence sat here on the pc at 1.30am
My boss hates bankrupts as there have been a few lately that have gone bust owing us money.
He always shouts about his disgust with them and it really is not something i can approach lightly.
tomorrow im going to tell him i dont want a card as i feel i will spend easier as i wouldnt have to run things past him 1st and tell him id prefer not to have it to continue to strive on being tight with company money.
see where that leads????0 -
Brilliant compromise but be prepared to come clean if needs be. Don't forget he's ranting about BR (companys?) because they owe him money. You have already proven yourself reliable and responsible with the company's money and you don't owe him any either, different scenario and tough to rant about.
Good luck and keep us updated. Have a tipple to help you sleepWhen I joined, I needed a name. The forum members gave one to me...I am INAN

well i told him that i dont want the card as i think i wouldnt be a tight with thye company funds if i didnt have to run it past him 1st.
He said that he doesnt have a problem with me having a card and that he respects my decision and he can see my logic (which i also believe is the truth)
But here comes the bad bit...
He says that the bank do have to know all about me to associate me to the comapany bank account by law.
So im back to square one as i still have to fill 2 of the 3 forms out
ill keep you updated with the saga guys n girls and thanks again for all your great advice0 -
You must be so stressed.
I think you should perhaps take the bull by the horns and tell him, but equally tell him how difficult it has been to disclose that information .
If he trusts you , and im sure he does, he will prob flip out then calm down, it may mean that you have to step down in a director role if it would still need to be declared, but he should and prob would make some urgent calls re your status and how it may affect the company to his accountant.
What you dont want to do is try and wing it and this all fall at your feet in a public meeting with a bank.
At that point he will then be embarrassed and prob will not listen to reason.
If you have not been dishonest etc i.e failed to declare it at the point of the employment commencing if it was asked then he will prob be fine - maybe not happy - but i work on the wording "todays news is tommorow's chip paper.
It could also be he has gaged there is something not right and by pushing you is trying to let you tell him.
And if you have alluded to a lifestyle that you dont have , have a good think because he could ask many questions. i say that as i thought you had stated he thought you owned your home outright when you rent.
Try and rest , and i wish you well.0 -

No need to step down from the Director role as the BR was 5 years ago, and the restriction on being a Director is only whilst you are undischarged (unless you have a BRO/BRU, or a Director Disqual)0 -
not saying that in terms of the BR but what his employer may want, in that the bank may view his circs against the company and not be happy to assist with credit for the company etc.
This guy is having to tell them about his financial history, so his boss may feel it could comprimise the business arrangements for credit.0
