well DD 18 has never asked, so not a problem. DS2 & 3 15 although twins VERY different. One into sports and PS3, other into girls. The one into girls does bring his GF home and they are allowed upstairs, but door remains open and as he shares with his twin and younger brother, he has no privacy. So am confident nothing is happening.
DS3 is only 12 and not yet shown an interest in girls.
I'd like all the kids friends to feel welcome here as I'd much rather they spent their time here than hanging around somewhere getting into mischief.
And TBH if they wanna do it they will........ because where there's a will there's way.0 -
I think I was 16/17 before I could bring a boyfriend home. He stayed the night a few times as we lived a distance apart and neither of us was driving then. I also stayed at his.
He was allowed to stay in my bedroom on the pretence he slept on the airbed, in actual fact he slept in my single bed with me but we never had penetrative sexHe had a double bed and I slept with him in that when I stayed over his.
I reckon my parents knew they could trust me, and I proved I was to be trusted. Afterall I didn't loose my virginity until 18 and in a long term relationship (with a different bloke).
I am pregnant now at 27, in another long term relationship, and will have to cross this bridge myself in several years time. I am expecting a boy, but may go on to have a girl in the future.
I would do as my parents did - from 16, based on trust. Kids are much more aware about sex these days anyway, and unlike my parents, I'd probably do the 'birds and the bees' chat with him. Or get his father to do it:D

My small girl is only 19 months old, but I plan to adopt a door open, all four feet on the floor policy at all times when she's old enough for it to become a concern.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

And on the other side of the coin, I'm married and my husband's parent's bought a double bed for his room for our Chinese wedding (and let babies sit on it... something about fertility and us bringing children into the world). We've slept in it, but haven't done it. Neither of us can bring ourselves to doing it in their house!0

DS1 is now 18 but from 17 he was in a steady relationship with a 16yr old girl, he was very open with me, I knew they slept together anyway so I was OK with her to stay over and they shared a room - he's now at uni but when he comes back weekends she comes and stays with him.
DS1 used to stay over at his former gf's house from the age of 14 in the spare room. I know they were sleeping together before they turned 16 but not in my house and it really is impossible to monitor them all the time. He now has a new gf who is still only 15 and he stays in the spare room at hers, and if she stays here it's in the spare room overnight (though they'll spend time in his room before they go to bed - I have no worries as he knows if I want anything I will just knock and go in). When she's turned 16, he'll be almost 17 and (assuming they're still together) will have been together for 9 months - I think I will let them share his room overnight then. They're going to sleep together anyway, I'd rather they felt comfortable enough to let me know, and would rather they're sleeping together here than sloping off finding places to 'do it'!0 -
