just had a letter from the P****s saying that they have decided to stop trading. i quote "as responsible directors of this company, we will source another monitoring company to honour any monitoring contracts entered into by SAS Fire & Security, and we will be in touch soon to provide you with the contact details" Ha. Ha. Ha. Whether this means Homegaurd will be in touch soon, i dont know, but if any working contact details get sent me, i'll be back to you.
Checked with Companies House, they havent received any notification yet. A recorded letter i sent to the Stockport place has failed so far.
Hi
I received the same letter from SAS and then an offer from a company named Monitoring & Response Solutions, who have agreed with SAS to take on the contract for £99, HOW?. I think £99 would cover a year or 2 of maintaining and monitoring the system and what then. If SAS recomends this company I think I will give it a miss unless someone knows something I don't know. They only registered as a company in October 2009, the previous name was Alarms Direct. I would think my only option is to write it off and take out a contract with an established company.
Can anyone recommend one.
I contacted Trading Standards but other than giving me a reference number they said they could not offer any advice. I have had another worrying thought as I am typing this, so I phoned Monitoring and Response. I asked how could they cover me for another 13 years for £99, I was told they don't want SAS customers to suffer a loss! I asked how come SAS recommended then and was advised that they have bought the SAS customer database and had already contacted 7,000 customers and we have until May to accept. Now at this point I am very concerned so I asked what data they are holding and I was told all the data SAS had, including keyholders data, passwords etc, Is it just me or do you think this is a data protection issue?0 -
I'm another one taken in by SAS. They installed a system in Jan 2010 and I paid £4000. It was, on-the-spot, make a decision and I made the wrong one! It was not until Fri 18th March that I knew anything was wrong. I got the same letter as others from SAS and at the same time a letter from "Monitoring and response solutions" asking for £99. I looked up "Monitoring and response solutions" on the internet but there was nothing! Looked it up in Companies House register - clearly a very new company with no track record. Their letter was signed by "Stephen Rievaulx Wilson" and when I put this into Google I immediately found this Forum - a great positive response leading to a whole host of other people who have been caught by this scam.
I have immediately registered here and will very happily join in with any pressure/action that can be brought to bear on these people. In the meantime I will read all the posts again very carefully. Glad to find you all! DerbyshireAlan0 -
Went to the bank today re the section 75 they have told us we should hear from the them shortly, we were asked what we hoped the outcome would be. All we want is to get a reputable company to take over the maintenance and monitoring, can't see we will get a response element though, it will be far too expensive. As Spring10 rightly asks, can anyone recommend one? Spoken to ADT so far, £26.99 a month but not sure exactly what that would give us, but they would have to come out and check it, more costs?
More of a worry is what Spring10 says about all our data, but I suppose looking at the fonts on the letters from SAS and UK Monitoring, and the fact they both came from Kinning Park Glasgow I should have known that. I haven't managed to get anyone on the phone at any of the places yet, not sure what I would say though if someone answered!0 -
You said in a post (#16 toffeerevelsftw

"that will be why i havent been paid then?"
This was in response to the previous post of mine that stated:-
"CISSL is being investigated and their bank accounts have been frozen"
PS
Anyone else noticed that if you do a Google search on "Skynet Security Systems Ltd, 375 West George Street", you get this result:-
Homeguard/Skynet provide a tested and guaranteed alarm system for residential homes ... Skynet 375 West George Street Glasgow G2 4LW Telephone 0141 959 0577 ...
Looks like the lazy web programmers forgot to remove one of the telling links between the two companies. Tut Tut!I am a cow so cannot speak Bullshine but I do recognise its smell when I come upon it.0 -

My parents had a call from Skynet a few days ago who were offering installation of security systems for £1, I wasn't made aware of any of this until I got home from work yesterday to find a Skynet agent (Ian) concluding an installation booking with my parents where installation was scheduled for the very next day (today!)
Ian provided me with a quick run down of what the system offered and I could see why my parents were interested in having it installed for the £1,700 they were asking for - Not the £1 that was advised during the cold call mind you!
I searched the internet for Skynet and this is where I found this forum with the warnings about SAS / HomeguardUK / Skynet etc - Now can I just mention here, SAS has previously had an agent at our house some 2 years ago trying to sell a security system but we did not agree to the contract as the price they were asking was out with our budget, so finding out about SAS and having a connection to Skynet instantly made me wary of the fact my parents just handed over the cheque. - Ian called his "manager" at this point who seemed to have touched a nerve as he was determined to get the point across that Skynet has nothing to do with SAS, funny that!.
I asked Ian how long Skynet were trading for where his reply to me was 20 years, this was a total lie as after further investigating after he left I found Skynet was actually incorporated in November 2010 so the company is not even 6 months old!
We received a call from Skynet this morning to confirm the installation and we advised them to cancel this as we simply don't feel safe having their security systems installed. The cheque has been cancelled at the bank to prevent Skynet from cashing it - I'll be handing in the letter of cancellation as requested by their documentation to their Glasgow office addressed to their managing director Warren Sneader today!
A word of advise - it pays to do some background investigation into these sort of things as not only finding out what I have from this forum I've also found a company who have been trading for over 7 years can install a similar if be it, a better setup with monitoring for approx £800 less than Skynet.
Just encase this does change as previously mentioned both homeguarduk.com & skynetsecurity.co.uk are identical apart from the company logo headings being either Homeguard or Skynet.
Word of thanks to all who have made this known especially SpammyTheSpammer who in my opinion has helped prevent my parents from being ripped off! :T0 -
That Central Intelligence Security Solutions Ltd (CISSL), Home Guard UK & Skynet Security Systems Ltd are all just restarts of the SAS FIRE AND SECURITY Company.
There were all formed by ex-executives of SAS in response to a disastrous court case against SAS.
They are now fighting very hard to hide any connections between SAS and these three new companies.
Amusingly enough, SAS FIRE AND SECURITY used to try to pretend that it had been formed over 20 years ago and this was conclusively disproved - plough through this link to see more about SAS:-

My mother on law has a system provided by SAS and had had a letter from UK Monitoring & Response Solutions asking for £99 to carry on the monitoring. If she refuses to pay this can she walk away from the contract given that it is another company or will she liable for the remainder of the contract?
Any help on this much appreciated.0
