So is it right to say that no-one here has had a limit of less than £4000 on this card? Has anyone been turned down? This'd be perfect for my new car; the only annoying thing is the 20 day wait.

Got mine. 4k limit. Lower than I usually get but more than enough for what I want.
I wonder why it is, that young men are always cautioned against bad girls. Anyone can handle a bad girl. It's the good girls men should be warned against.-David Niven

Is the Tesco one likely to come through quicker? I need the money fairly quickly, and although I could borrow the money from a family member in the short term I presume that '0% on purchases' means I can't draw out cash and pay back my dad?

Bleh only £4k here, I recently reduced my CLs on my other two cards by a fair whack so I might see if M&S are up for extending that a little. They may have assessed it before I did that. I could really use £6k.

Can anyone clear this up for me? The 0% is on purchases only, so if I draw out £4000 cash I pay 2.99% on that there and then, but does still mean that I pay 0% interest on the repayments on that £4000 for the next 15 months? The disadvantage is that I pay the extra 2.99%, so a one off extra of £128; but thereafter it's still 0% interest? Do I have that right?

They only gave me 3k. Reason is probably this :-

    MBNA Platinum 10.6k
    Barclaycard Platinum 8.5k
    Barclays Premier 10k
    Amex Gold No Limit
    Egg Card 8k
Sainsbury Mastercard 3.5k (On 0% and nearly maxed for stoozing, hence the M&S application). Nothing outstanding on any of the other cards.

Maybe too many cards with too much available credit. Anyway, suits me - I'll slow stooze the M&S card now and when I've maxed both cards it'll be back to the Amex for the discipline of paying it off every month and the MBNA for the periodic 0% offers. Life gets complicated...

Despite my worries about my high credit available to annual income, it appears I have been accepted. Could have helped, that I only am using about 2% of my credit available on my credit cards.

Might get a lower than usual limit like datostar I guess, but not too fussed as even £2k will do me as I only intend to spend on it while it's at 0% and pay it off before any interest is chargable.

I applied today and got the welcome to email a few hours later, so it looks like it is getting quicker, maybe the initial rush for cards has passed.

As I got the welcome to email, it appears I'm almost home and dry, but of course it hasn't been unknown for people to be refused right upto the first attempt to use a credit card, so not counting my chickens quite yet.
