I pat my bills over the internet - by Bacs, from my current account.
    Have you never done that?

Or you can set up direct debit, either for minimum or full amount.

Or I believe you can also pay using your debit card on M&S money website..

My preferred method is internet banking - set up a new payee, the a/c number and sort code for M&S will be on the statement - and use your M&S card number (no spaces) as the Reference (it's vital to include this as the reference otherwise the funds will just sit in an M&S suspense account and not hit your credit card)

Any time I've done this it's credited my credit card the same day, although it takes a day or two for the credit card companies to acknowledge that.

So if I paid, e.g. Capital One from my HSBC Internet Banking today (if I still had the card), it would appear on Capital One's system tomorrow with todays date.

  • I have had one of these for a few years, started with a limit of £3.5k and they themselves put it up to £5.5k, though when I rang and asked them to increase it in the credit crunch, they refused.

We put all grocery and fuel spending through it to get the points, and pay it off in full each month, about £30 vouchers each quarter.

Applied, accepted, just sent back the signed form. Acceptance wasn't immediate, I got an email a couple of days later.

No idea yet of limits. Appears a slow admin process compared to other cards. I tarted previously with M&S but it doesn't appear to have affected it.
I wonder why it is, that young men are always cautioned against bad girls. Anyone can handle a bad girl. It's the good girls men should be warned against.-David Niven

I imagine there is a bit of a backlog on the applications, it's one of the more tempting 0%'ers around at the mo.
