  • I got 4k, although to be honest, I haven't checked how long my interest free period is, as my first payment isn't due to go out (2.5% until June 2011) so I have until Jan 2012 at the earliest to repay (I got the card in April 2011)
Feb 2012 - onwards MF achieved
September 2016 - Back into clearing a mortgage - Was due to be paid off in 32 years in March 2047 -
April 2018 down to 28.00 months vs 30.04 months at normal payment.
Predicted mortgage clearing 03/2047 - now looking at 02/2045

Aims: 1) To pay off mortgage within 20 years - 2037
  • Card & PIN arrived yesterday by normal post. CL of £4000.....Seems to be the standard CL for this card.

say if you have a 4k limit, when can you ask for a credit limit increase? If its 6 months after you started using the card, the new limit would still be subject to 0% purchase until the end of the 15 months right?

There is no saying they will give you a limit increase after 6 months, after all they are not obliged to.

If they did, it is something I guess you would need to ask M&S, but I don't see why not because at the end of the 15 months you start paying interest on the balance anyway.

I guess if you applied for an increase then to have a good chance you would need to keep the card well away from the £4000 limit or they may say that you are already struggling to keep the initial credit under control.
