The general consensus seems to be though, that dispite it's faults, you won't find better than ebay simply because no one else has the same number of potential customers/level of exposure.

Sorry if this has been mentioned elsewhere but has anybody tried

Its not an auction site exactly but there are no listing fees and no success fees, it operates in the same way as freecycle but you sell your items instead by posting your area, item and price, with payment and delivery options. You can even put your photos in the gallery as with freecycle.

I've listed a couple of things on there but no buyers as yet but never mind as it didnt cost me anything, and they were only the leftovers that didnt sell on ebay. Theres not that many members on there yet but I dont think its as established as freecycle but some people seem to have some luck selling on it.

I am just sooooo disgusted with ebays fees, they are unbelievable!

Does anyone know of any other auction sites that are viewed a lot but dont charge ridiculous fees like ebay?

    Hi Sinpoe.

You might find THIS THREAD gives you some ideas.

Unfortunately, the online auction market is so dominated by ebay that the alternatives don't really attract a lot of buyers. :(

Excellent, thanks, i'll have a look through.

I know what you mean about dominating the market though - i did a "auction sites" search in google and all i could find were little sites that werent worth it.

Its frustrating as in all other trades there are limits to how much a company can dominate the market - Tesco's being in the news quite recently as they are pushing it - but online there are just no rules set. i really think in the next 20 years there will have to be some changes and parameters set as the online trading world is just going to get bigger and bigger.
