Wow Im the opposite ,im wanting to thank swissport (luggage agents for Thomsons) .We landed back on Monday night (at Newcastle ) and had one case missing. This afternoon DHL turned up at the door with it :j .Never lost a bag before and my DD1 is over the moon as her favourite dress was in it (designer whoopsie ).Just ensure you don t fly without adequate insurance.Life is short, smile while you still have teeth

There are some ridiculous posts here. So- the OP should just have accepted that no-one could give an answer? Put up with days on end with no luggage? wonder if they will ever find your luggage and reunite you with it. And not even a grumble?? Are you all saints or just meek??
I have a feeling the post would never have been made if Thomsons had been proactive in customer service. But hey- you pay for a service and you actually expect it to happen? But perhaps Thomsons get away with lousy customer care because many of the customers display similar mentality to the ones here who can't see a problem.
On a more constructive note- a complaint should be as succint as you can make it. A long laboured one just makes the reader switch off.
By the way- my luggage has gone 3 times on my travels- everytime with BA. Two of those for less than a day and one time, I never saw it for an entire holiday and 2 weeks afterwards. I know how stressful it can be.
At least you can learn from this- take your maximum hand luggage allowance and put in any thing you know you would really miss.
And don't talk about spending large amounts of money on these forums- folks will have no sympathy and think you should have hired a private jet:rotfl:weight loss target 23lbs/49lb0 -
You seem to have missed the point that the OP has lost the use of hair straighteners and a few toiletries - this from their own posts. Hardly life threatening.globetraveller wrote: »There are some ridiculous posts here. So- the OP should just have accepted that no-one could give an answer? No but from time to time it does happen - its happened to me and its happened to you. Lifes a !!!!! innit?I have a feeling the post would never have been made if Thomsons had been proactive in customer service. But hey- you pay for a service and you actually expect it to happen?
No theres a problem all right but its also rather necessary to maintain a sense of proportion. But perhaps Thomsons get away with lousy customer care because many of the customers display similar mentality to the ones here who can't see a problem.
Quite - and it looks like a poor little me whine as a result. On a more constructive note- a complaint should be as succint as you can make it. A long laboured one just makes the reader switch off.
Hair straighteners unavailable and a few toiletries missing for arrival back at home - is that really stressful?By the way- my luggage has gone 3 times on my travels- everytime with BA. Ahhh! Kerching. As said before I had quite a bit of sympathy for the OPs plight until I got to that bit. I suspect I'm not the only one either. And don't talk about spending large amounts of money on these forums- folks will have no sympathy and think you should have hired a private jet:rotfl:

I'm amazed that no-one has picked up the most salient and eye-opening snippet in all of this.lovetodive wrote: »No-one wanted to accept ownership of the problem or to deal with it, one girl even gave us the number of the lost teddy bear dept at Gatwick to ring just to get rid of us.
Sorry, there is a Lost Teddy Bear Dept at Gatwick?
No wonder it was losing so much money.0 -

.
But are the Teddy Bears, lost, abandoned, runaways of part of some elaborate Teddy Bear Trafficking ring.
Perhaps by starting this thread, the OP has brought to the attention of the Great British public the trauma of no longer having your Tebby Bear with you.
It ceratinly put not having access to your hair straighteners into context

The OP said she's p!ssed off that the service she paid for which includes her bags arriving when she does is poor, and explained how no-one wants to take ownership of the problem (sounds about right)...
But for those that dont go past Skegness for there holidays turned the thread into a mockery by asking questions which lead to where we are now.
Just because someone states whats inside there suitcase, doesnt give the right for another to take the attention away from the original post and make a new topic about the contents of a bag, as opposed to the bag itself in question....
There might not be a teddy bear depo in Gatwick, but then if you have never heard of the word sarcasm before, the few braincells that some have would focus more on the mockery.....
Simple fact is, a tour operator messed up, and should have dealt with the issue a bit more professionally....
And for those that still dont understand the Original thread, next time you goto a curry house and order: Curry, rice and a naan bread, and the curry turns up with the naan bread, but theres a delay on the rice and they unsure how long it will be, what would you do ?
I guess the OP wont come back to this site after these numbskull replies ?0 -

I'm not sure anyone is disputing that?
What people are saying is that the OP should keep a sense of perspective and not be crying out for compensation for the distress caused by a suitcase full of beachwear, hair straighteners and cosmetics (amongst other things) being delayed on the way back to the UK in March after their holiday is finished.
You looking down your nose and de-crying other posters as not possibly having anywhere near your own vast knowledge and experience of travel is just making you look a bit of a plank (again!) to be honest, IMHO
