Brilliant that means I can top the account up as much as possible rather than have another account with no interest for 'emergencies'.

Just done mine. Moving from the 2.8% (+0.2%) to 3.0% (+0.2%)

The phone call from start to finish took 15 minutes and I had to sit through a sales spiel about the Ultimate Reward account.

ISA Direct Reward 3 is a 2.8% product that drops to 0.5% after 12 months. I'm 6 months in to mine.

If I change to ISA Direct Reward 4, I'll get a 3.0% product that will drop to 0.5% twelve months from the day I do it, so in addition to the 6 months of "better" rate that I've already had.

After 12 months the interest rate drops to 0.5%. The 12 months will start again from when you re-designate your account, which means that you will be extending the period you get a decent interest rate for.

Excuses seem to be rife now. I phoned back and was told they now can't redesignate until the transfer arrives from First Direct

Just changed mine. Took around 10 mins and didn't get the sales patter. I was on hold for most of that 10mins.

they said the new rate will not apply until tomorrow when its officially launched, so I guess they are just getting a few changed over before the rush tomorrow!

Whoever you got is wrong. You can re-designate today. New Account customers (who have no Isa at all) have to wait until tomorrow.:j

I just changed from Direct Reward 2 to Direct Reward 3 last weekend - are there any restrictions on changing so quickly?
