I can see you are trying - but please watch the budget - you are cash strapped and your budget is tight because you are on double payments for some bills you have missed. water/tv licence.

well done on the NI contributions will help for MA I'm sure.

If you cleared £640 rent arrears previously you'll have these clear as well, may take time. But you will get there. I'd be upfront with Landlord no more false promises (I know you didn't mean to).

If you like your property I'd stay where you are and try and make amends with the landlord - kids like to be in the same house. :)

Some landlords will be more lenient than others, my dad for one, he has properties without mortgages so doesn't feel the same level of urgency if rent is late etc. Although he's no pushover:rotfl:

Well you've had advice coming out of your lugholes haven't you so I'll not say a bean in the way of advice.

What I will say is chin up, keep up with your dreams and you'll get there.

I have admiration for a single Mum that's bettering themself. A friend of mine with three children spent three years studying to become a nurse, worked and also everything else a single Mum has to deal with. How she did it amazes me and she proved it could be done.

You can do it too :) Good luck x

Is your employment classed as self-employment? The reason I ask is because of proposed changes to the self employed receiving tax credits in the move to the Universal Credit system. The proposal paper indicates that those in SE will be treated as if they earn the NMW for the hours they work, giving them a notional income for the first time, meaning those whose profits are less than the NMW will be treated as if they achieved a higher income.

Yes it is. I've heard of the universal credit but haven't looked into it yet. I'm assuming that means I'll be getting less money etc.

Can't remember who put the point across but it was only yesterday I realised I could make near enough £100 in just short of 3 hours, just by logging into the tarot lines; up until then I'd concentrated more on the catalogue work which was lower paid - now I can make that sort of money it's spurred me on to do moe hours with it; if I can do the same again every week then that's at least £100 a week extra that can go towards the rent arrears.

Therefore, there's now no problem - I'm only still replying as people are still posting on this thread :)

Oh and thanks to the people that posted to say they believe a single mum can better herself and gain qualifications if she works hard; I've wanted to be a midwife since I was 15 so I'm definitely going to achieve that; yes I may be a single mother to 3 children but I feel so lucky to have them and count my blessings every day that they are here with me...they don't hold me back, they enrich my life and spur me on to gain these qualifications and provide a better life for them.

So I hope no one thinks that I regret having them, from what I've written in this thread.

Please, for your children's sake, learn to deal with your finances in the future.

I can't believe you've only just realised that one of your jobs pays more than the other and you can earn more from doing that one. I'm quite astounded that someone can be working two jobs and not realise that doing one more often is going to bring you in more money. That the solution was right in front of you all the time and you never had to be in this position in the first place.

You owe it to those kids to educate yourself about these things and not get in this position with the next flat.

Good luck. I hope you follow through with some of the advice on this thread and your previous one.

Open university is free if you earn below a certain amount per year, midwifery courses are funded by the NHS.

My son is currently having speech and language therapy.

And I've already said, yes I will keep working. I currently do 2-3 hours every evening as well as while they are at work, I'll just swap the catalogue job for the tarot lines as it pays more.

My son also has speech and language therapy, although he is just speech delayed due to some ill health early on.

However my sisters son has Autism and she was told when he was 3. He's now 6 and I can say first hand how difficult it can be. Your very right in saying a routine is very important, more so than children without it.

I wish you well, you have a lot to deal with and sounds to me like you have your head screwed on. Granted made some mistakes but haven't we all :) and no your children are not mistakes and no decent Mother would suggest that your just at a bad spot which will get better.

Ignore the people who are just on here to dish out their 'so called' advice when their just sat tapping on their computers out to stick their nose into other people's life's and not giving a dame about helping someone out at a difficult time.

good luck....sounds like you will get there in the end...and make good for yourself...remember to roof over your head is the number one priority as well as the kids...
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.

Not intended to be high and mighty at all - I'm genuinely surprised that a person can be working a job and not have a handle on how much money they earn from it. Which in turn leads to a situation where they're behind on the rent and potentially jeopardising the roof over their kids' head.

I'm quite sincere in hoping that the OP can sort this out and turn it around - she's been on here six months before in a similar situation and there's very good advice in both threads.
