Hi MiaowMiaow
It's great to catch up on your posts. It's been difficult to find the time this week with so many joba to do in the evening and children on the laptops.
You are doing well with your challenges.
Sometimes we have these days where we have to spend money we do not have. My debt has decreased this week but will go up again in the next couple of weeks as work needs to be done on bthe car. This is essential as we need the car for work.
Keep up the good work.June 16 Mortgage Amount £82,896.15

Hi,
re the accounts it will depend on their t&cs. We kept wages being paid into main/old account but then have standing order set up to transfer required minimum into new current account £500 in our case. I have seen that some require min of £1000 though so you'd need to check.GC 2024 £1445.91/£3000
GC July 24 £0/£250

thanks keggie - yeh i noticed a lot were £1000 min, £500 would be ideal so ill have a look x0 -
just been searching on the internet for basic bank accounts - found 2 which I have applied online for - they have no overdraft/cheque book which is good. so i will be able to have an account where i have no debt! also don't need to pay in a minimum of any amount each month. ideally i want to have various accounts for different things - bills, pets, car etc..... to try aqnd manage my money more carefully. little steps...............
cannot wait to get rid of some debt just wish i could click my fingers and it would all go away.
also listed 11 items on ebay so at the moment in total i have 13 selling.
also cleaned the house today. tried to cancel my brother off my car insurance yesterday but the call centre had closed so will have to try tomorrow.

Hi MiaowMiaow
hmmm just wrote a reply to you and it has vanished! Good news re the bank accounts and I'm really impressed with your ebay listings. I felt quite proud at listing an item last week, another today and 2 books on amazon - you put me to shame, I must try harder!
I hope you felt good at clearing your barclaycard balance - think of it as one less debt even if you didn't realise you had it:rotfl:
I agre that it is really frustrating that it takes so long to manage to make another payment when you are motivated and have a plan but I guess our debts took quite a while to accumulate in first place.
How are things at work? Are you still doing ok?GC 2024 £1445.91/£3000

xx
the first rule of trying to get out of the debt situation and breaking the cycle of the overdraft is to make sure that you have a 'clean' bank account ie one where you don't owe anyone any money. Banks can and do transfer money from one account to another to repay debts ie savings to current account etc.
Technically they can ask for the money back but if you have your wages paid into a different account then you can work out affordable payments to reduce the balance to the old bank account and set up a standing order to do so.
Open a basic bank account if you look on this website it will give you a list of basic bank accounts and the facilities which are are available for each account. www.moneymadeclear.org.uk
