Oh..forgot to say that I have just changed to Alliance and Leicester to..are you getting the Electron card and cheque book acount ?0
-
Hi S
Yep - got the bog standard account with electron card and cheque book - Quite a scary thought to live with out a credit card, especially as I often buy things for work on the internet and then claim money back - think that's going to stop with no credit but at least I can't then blow the money when its returned instead of paying it back to cc.
Anyway going to a mega effort tomorrow to do a mini shop for food for the week, target to keep it under £30 all in: including nappies and baby milk.
What do you hope to achieve this weekend?0 -
Quite a few of us in the same boat I think! I am starting a DMP through Payplan on 1st December too. It should take 6 1/2 years for us to be clear, but we're hoping to clear our debts a lot sooner, if I can convince DH to understand how serious this is!Proud to be dealing with my debts0

Hi all
Can I join the support group? I started my dmp with CCCS on 1st November, my debt free date is 2020! (I hope to reduce that). I have opened a basic account with A&L. So far only 2 creditors have accepted the CCCS offer & my bank have turned really mean (demanding full mortgage amount outstanding although no arrears on that, arrears on loan account only!
We have £50 left to get to payday, on the 28th!Proud to be dealing with my debts :j

Don't know whether I would be of much use but I am about 18 months down the line and have been through all the worries and anxiety that you have.
I have my own self administered dmp which I negotiated myself (all on 0%) and have managed to turn myself into the most organised person from someone who was a total disorganised nightmare.
If anyone would like some help / advice or just plain old encouragement I would be pleased to volunteer. I do not have the expertise that some of the guys on here do but I am proof that there is light at the end of the tunnel and could help you get organised and give you a gentle shove in the right direction.
Feel free to ask. Thanks to MSE I cleared £37k of debt in five years and I was lucky enough to meet Martin to thank him personally.0 -
I wanan join to.
Start first payment with CCCS on 1st December.Debt free date in 10 years......Paying 385 pounds a mmonth to my Vultures...have recieved no mail from any of the Vultures as yet...Like i said previously,if they accept fine,if they dont, thats fine to,they wont get anything more from me....I dont have a morgage,no car,so CCCS when i first phoned them, said im actualy in quite a strong position as they cant take anything from me....
I have only made one phone call to CCCS,and only other contact ive had with them is through the post or online...I see some people have actualy had interviews with them...but im glad to be on board...0 -
Hi Richardvc

Hi Everyone
It's really reassuring to know we're not alone. How about we check in every couple of days with progress updates as our DMPs come in to play. And any other ideas for more income/money saving tips are always gratefully appreciated. I've signed up for surveys, applied to AQA and registered with Quidco. I've got some baby bits on ebay this weekend and am going to have a thorough clear out of my wardrobe, have some lovely bits that looked great years ago when I was a 10/12 - ahh well won't be seeing that size again unless starvation kicks in! So to all us December DMP DFWs (The triple Ds!?) good luck for the weekend and lets put our collective heads together to overcome pauper hell!!0 -
Just a quick update - Had a letter from abbey cc saying that my card was frozen until my financial situation improved - seemed quite nice about the whole thing! Also had a call from India from Sainsbury's Visa asking where my payment was, told them about DMP and they said they would make a note on my file. Had another call about an hour later from same lot - so that note worked well!! lol!0

Hi all
Got a letter from goldfish this morning accepting the cccs offer. They had already accepted my own offer when I started trying to go it alone, but this was for a little less, so that is good. Also got a couple of cc bills, with late fees and interest added.
Im making a few extra quid using pigsback & doing lightspeed & yougov surveys. Just joined another one called juicy brains & got £1 for joining. have sold quite a bit on ebay, but need to be careful as with ebay & paypal fees sometime make very little. Have underestimated postage a couple of times too.
I have a house, although it has no equity in it, so my main aim is to keep hold of that, my next priority is to get the debt paid off.
Have a look at the freebies board, have sent away for some of those, just to get something nice in the post from time to time!Proud to be dealing with my debts :j
