That is fantastic news Tracey - I'm really inspired by that - Going to try and get my letter out to First Direct today. Also got two mystery shopping trips so bit extra for Christmas (or the New Year!)
Had a couple more calls yesterday from Morgan Stanley - two messages to call and then they caught me on the mobi - Lady was actually very nice - I told her about the previous call and she apologised and said she would make a note on the system - well now we'll see if it works.
Hope everyone is doing Ok

Here's a quick update to my day.
Was really positive this morning - had a cheap haircut - via a friend so half the price of the usual salon one. Then off to do first Mystery shopping excursion and then to sick friend's for quick visit. Mobi went off, It was Morgan Stanley (again) I've come to the conclusion that they're playing Good Cop, Bad Cop with me - my first call two days ago was horrible, really rude man with a tone that made me feel I should never show my face in public etc Then yesterday I was called by nice lady -very apologetic- said she would add a note to my file. Today's call was another rude man and the same tone of why haven't I paid - wanted to know what was "going on!" Explained that I had written to them (with a token payment that they had cashed) and that CCCS were dealing with them. He put me on to his supervisor who said they hadn't had anything from CCCS and I needed to pay full payment. I explained that I couldn't and she was then reasonable and that they would hold back till they heard from CCCS.
Whizzed home to find Default notice from Eggand nasty letter from Morgan Stanley - think I'm off their Christmas Card list! and a reminder that my car Tax is due at the end of the month
Just out walking the dog and got a text from Monument asking me to call - Yeah right - cos I want to add that call charge to my phone bill. Got back in the warm just in time to catch a call from Abbey asking for payment of this months bill!
I feel like unplugging the phone - I know that these people are only doing their job, and most of them are very nice once you explain the situation but I can understand why people get into a state when answering the phone. Got to go back to work for a couple of hour s this evening so there's a little respite.
I did at least do my 2nd mystery shop so that's another £10 in the kitty - and when I come in tonight I am going to start on reclaiming bank fees as I feel I need to get back in charge of the situation.
- I refuse to be intimadated in my own home!!!!
Hope the rest of you are having a happier time - Soon be Christmas!:snow_laug

Its been that does that, or just say spend it on the credit card, and thats what has got us in this horrible mess but we are facing up to it now, our debt will take 6 years to pay off0 -
Hi all
Great news about the charges Tracey, well done :T
Quiet day again today. One worrying letter from Egg cancelling the cc card & telling us the debt is being passed to a debt collection agency. That was quick! Now waiting to see if DCA will be evil or not...will keep you posted!
Have finished the Xmas shopping, got much much less than last year, but probably still a bit too much! Hard to look forward to it with such anxious times ahead, but want kids to enjoy it, but at the same time not expect too much. Im lucky, they are both sensible and doing their bit to help :-)Proud to be dealing with my debts :j

Hey Sharon Well done for finishing Christmas shopping - I've still got a few bits to go -bought the kids toys from Ebay which should bulk up the pressie pile without busting the budget.
Tracey inspired me to get on and do something about bank charges so today I've posted off my letter to First Direct claiming back just over £500 (fingers crossed).
I got my first default notice today from Abbey - looks awful seeing it in black and white but also got a letter from Next agreeing dmp repayment so one step in the right direction.
No calls from Morgan Stanley today - feel a little lonely without our daily chat - perhaps I'll give them a call tomorrow to check they're not missing me.
Also came home to answer phone message from "Resolve" whom I'm assuming are another credit chasing company.
I've been invited to stay with my sister in Belgium at Christmas which would be lovely but would mean Eurotunnel fee which I haven't budgetted for - Not sure I can justify the expense £120 and would have to get her a pressie!!! (Oh my god now I really do sound like Scrooge!)
Hope you've all got through the day - we're a whole week into our DMPs Yippee!

for a few months now cant remember how long will have to check out the letters and bank statements lloyds have been charging us £106 in charges i presume this is month again have to check above.
thats what my hubby is concerned about the default notices, we havent missed a payment and our credit rating is good, so going on cccs on dmp is going to effect is a lot, at least the companies dont know how telephone number.0 -
Hi in-trouble. Yes, going on a dmp blows your credit rating to bits, for the next 6 years. Im not fussed about that as I have no intention of using ccs or loans again, but I wish I had moved my mortgage first, to a better rate & someone I didnt owe any other money to. I would advise anyone else to do so first!
Im down today, got a statement from the bank, they are charging me £50 interest & my dmp payment is £55. At that rate I will never clear it :-(
I will have to write again asking them to freeze the interest.
Also got a letter from the council about council tax. My payment is THREE days late because I have not had a new dd mandate from them despite contacting them twice. They have sent a notice which demands the whole balance for the year by the 1st Jan  This is stupid beyond belief, and this sort of thing really really annoys me!
Im sending them a cheque for the month and a letter that is rather heated in tone.Proud to be dealing with my debts :j

Sounds like you had a tough day, can you claim anything back from the bank? I'd certainly be sending off a complaint letter about the council tax too - I think its riddiculous that they can immediately ask for a year's payment.
My day has been fairly un eventful - got a couple of calls this morning - Sainsbury's visa and AMEX both were ok once I explained the situation - AMEX even offered me a loan and when I declined they then said they would be sending a letter with a settlement figure (if only I had the money to opt for that - it would cut my dmp down and stop a few grey hairs!
Got the last of my Chrissie Pressies today so one more thing done, and it's great not to have to face those shops anymore. :T
How are the rest of the supporters dong with Christmas preparations on a tight budget? anyone found any ingenious savings?
