hope that helps ..... merry xmas.
first direct charge you an overdraft fee and an excess overdraft fee they are both penalties so you can claim them both. these fees are both charged at the same time. I've never thathomed it out why they charge you 2 charges for one mistake maybe cos their fleecing mofo's.
Anyway on a lighter note First Direct get their court summons off me today.0

So that means I can claim back that £30? How do you advise I go about it? Just give them a threatening call, or start the whole letter writing exercise?bad hair day...0

If you are only claiming for £30, it may be worth giving them a call, or sending an email in the first instance before starting the full reclaiming process. You may find they will refund this one charge quickly. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

anyone sucessfully claimed off FD for an old account? I closed mine about 6 months ago but was charged a fortune 5 years ago in overdraft charges.0

Posting my claim for £600 plus interest today (recorded delivery of course;) )
Incidentally I didn't claim for the "Overdraft Fees" (which I was charged every time I used my overdraft) as I didn't think that this was possible, I've only claimed for "Excess Overdraft Fees" and "Recall Charges" - have I done the right thing?
 Thanks0
