    We're still deciding between

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w7sD6LSTBwo Rose Of My Heart, Johnny Cash

    and

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-MyoIiP4sDsm Are You The One That I've Been Waiting For - Nick Cave

I really want to walk in to Where The Wild Roses Grow, but it's probably slightly inappropriate for a wedding :rotfl:

Just listened to both your links and Rose of my Heart is beautiful!

Johnny sings it so well, so much emotion and passion :)

  • Our Processional was "We've only just begun" by The Carpenters (26 years ago!!), my MIL burst into tears when she found out what the words were, we also had that as our first dance!

  • I've never understood why people choose Weller's You Do Something To Me as their wedding song cos it's actually about unrequited love ie "i'm hanging on the wire for a love I'll never find" and "you do something wondeful then chase it all away".

It's a top tune but he's got more appropriate ones than this.
  • We had Elbow - One Day Like This, lovely lovely song (my favourite album ever Seldom Seen Kid) only downside was it is kinda long for a couple who don't do the dancing stuff and the DJ didn't pay attention to our request for anyone who wanted to, to get up and dance so we felt a bit daft after the first 5 minutes lol.

I walked down the aisle to Etta James - At Last, it made me cry just as I was walking in, the words were so fitting, neither of us are spring chickens (not ancient either lol) and summed lots of stuff up. We came out to Morcambe and Wise - Bring Me Sunshine which nobody knew about and everyone had a good chuckle although a few people were dissappointed that me never did the whole clicky heels stuff. Still makes me smile. I have the CD I made up for the registrars and in the background music section we had Morrissey - You're The One For Me Fatty as we had joked that I would walk in to it (we are both "pleasantly plump") My mum still creases up when I have it on in the car.

We had Paul Weller's "You do something to me". I wanted "Brown eyed girl" but DH said no.
I' amazed by people saying they couldn't dance to what they wanted as the DJ didn't have it! We burned our own copy and gave it to the DJ we also had a copy with the best man, the Maid of honour and the Parents! We weren't leaving anything up to fate!
We've been married 10 years this year. Neither of us has found anyone better yet ;)
